I've been checking out the gifts selection. I'm still not entirely sure what to choose, although I know which I shouldn't choose Smile
It appears to me that CCP has made a selection geared towards the new players. Am I correct?
I think that's great, seeing the economy in Eve has gone nuts and prices have doubled, tripled, quadri... quad... quill... four times, I'm sure that these gifts are very useful to any novice pod pilot starting out on their adventure.

Good choice CCP.

collector's items... there's a joke.

I got the mining skillbooks as they come with 2 standard attribute enhancer implants. Seem like the best choice as I haz no mining skills save for mining 1 which I got stuck with back when I made this character in 2006.

Also I'm approaching the awesome age (100m sp) so I'm kinda running out of things to train so meh

The mining books one was the best one... At least the one with the most value. I got that in all of my accounts even though only 1 out of the 5 has a miner on it :)

If the stuff is no use to you (like me) then either don't redeem it or give it to a newbie.

No need to get all pissed off about it mmmm?

Actually, the gifts are a very poor choice. They're giving away ships that are normally produced and traded by players, completely circumventing the whole idea of EVE by simply spawning them in your station of choice. So these gift are very much anti- sandbox, they hurt the producers and mess with the player driven prices.

They tried that a while back with that faction Scorp, to a point where us the players revolted over it and CCP backed down stating "they learned from their mistakes". Seems like they didn't.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Refine Your Skills:

value at current prices over 50 mill

Rest:

value at current prices around 20 mill tops

Unless I'm mistaken, should prove an easy pick for anyone who just considers it as extra isk. Wonder how many will optimize the value reward and pick the refining gift... also wonder if it will impact the prices on said implants momentarily. Might be a good spot to buy them in the next couple months.

.. reminds me to an epic trolling thread written at the point of time, when the NeX-Store was introduced. That was hilarious. Unfortunatelly i can't find it again.

" I can buy a monocle. You can't. You're poor. Therefore you are full of hate." ... it was something like that ... Cool

- ----

I'm also still not sure, which gift i should select. What i'll not select, is the Pax-Amarria.-Book.

The Ammaria chronicle is pretty hilarious and reason enough to grab one on all my accounts.

How much worth are the mining crystals? They should all contain some Nocxium if I am not mistaken. Should be worth something ...

I might go for the mining crystals as they are the quickest to sell. Reprocess -> Sell.

Skillbooks could take a while before the ISKs come in.
