I like this game for the same reason that almost everyone on EVE loves it.

Because i dont have to leave the house and i can hide in a windowless room as i play
I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion.

I like that there's no guard rails or hand holding. Player created content is best content.

I'll just leave this here:
So while many ships were destroyed this weekend, it sure feels good to be the hosts of such massive amounts of spaceship carnage. We'll always be prepping for the next big event our players throw at us.

I really like CCP as people, and game designers. I can't think of a better company to give my money to.

Even though i have some long standing issues with various things, i have faith that someday, somehow, things will be better for everyone.

I love it because it takes time to get somewhere but you dont need to spend all of that time ingame.
And ofc the space parts :D

I hate the PVP and that according to CCP we, the players, can choose what we do which has never been the case :P when I actually get to fly a t1 carrier without being at risk for pvp then I have been able to make the choice I have wanted for such a long time :D

I like the fact that throughout my entire Eve career start to finish I will probably shoot at each and every one you at some point. Does that make me a mean or angry person, no not really I'm doing it cause its fun and I love the sexual thrill Twisted

I love it mostly for CCP. They are by far the best indie company, besides Valve of course (yeah they're still indie).

I also love Eve because im a collector and a hoarder, and eve is my haven because of that. I can collect millions of things, and there is soooo much to get.

Im fairly new to owning a gaming pc. I have always wanted to get heavy into MMOs but never found one that I thought was worth the monthly. I started on FF which was extremetly brutal to the newcomer, didnt want to pay for that. Played Phantasy Star on dreamcast which while initially was a blast quickly became a dragging bore.

Then a friend convinced me to try EVE and I found heaven on earth. Very detailed, not the most new player friendly but I like the "figure it out, we think you are smart" approach to the game.

And I have never...never ever played a game where im in a constant state of anxiousness as anytime someone can try to kill me. Out of nowhere. For no good reason at all.

I love it.

There's just too many reasons this game rocks beyond measure...

1) Whinyt little 13 year old kids( wether actually 13 year olds or not ) get weeded out in the first week because they can't figure out how the game works and what the 'endgame' is and hoops they have to jump to get there to be 'leet'.

2) Darwinism in action. You **** up, you die. Survival of the fittest. You need titanium guts, and a mean streak to play this game. even if you're a 'non-pvper' ( hint, in Eve they don't really exist )

3) Awesome complicated scifi game

4) 'better' means being smarter 90% of the time, not more leet gear, or daddy's credit card.

5) Winning/Losing has meaning, you're not up against stupid NPCs, they're just background like they should be. The real opponent is other players, whatever venue you play.

6) Sheer diversity of activities, many of which would be totally frowned upon or cried about in other MMO's, like market manipulation, scams, massive wars and true emergent gameplay. ( Imagine Goons invading stormwind and really taking over... )

7) The players! seriously.. is there a more sadistic, nastier, scarier, more devastating comunity of people out there, aside from Serial Killers Anonymous. ( who are probably too busy playing eve to do their normal thing... )
And yes, I mean that in a good way. This is not a game for the meek. This is a game for mature gamers who know how to have a laugh, and who know how to play hardball if they have to, yet also are nicer and friendlier 'to their own kind'. There is honour among thieves, even when they are out to scam or kill you.

8) The Devs. CCP dropped the ball a few times, yes, but still, I don't think there's many more devoted, openminded and 'serious' developers out there than the ones working on Eve Online.

Spaceships, single shard and the community(most of it anyway). Also the pew, don't think any game has given me such an adrenaline rush.

It's the only game where trolling, scamming and griefing (ok, ccp have dropped the ball on this one a bit lately) are actively encouraged.

This thing isn't about shooting someone just to watch a head explode. This game requires you to think and learn; if you're not capable of that, you won't last long.

And I can play my own game, and EveO gives me a metric crap-ton of different things to do.

I love how the game is an awesome sandbox with people who don't RP and people who would assault you in real life if you said their empire were a bunch of filthy dogs.

I love how everything exists, it has to be acquired, refined, constructed, used, destroyed, salvaged, recycled...
Plus the community is alright. When they're not scamming you or trying to lock onto your ship. :D

EVE was my first MMO, and I played it on and off for about a year. But EVE is a cruel mistress, and eventually we had a falling out. I bummed around trying other MMO's but they all frustrated me ("Why does this games economy suck? Whats the point of ganking me if I just respawn 10m away? Now that I'm lvl 50 what do I do? Why is PvP only happen in these special instances? WHY CAN'T EVERYONE BE ON THE SAME SHARD?!). All the while I'd glance over my shoulder and see EVE, her long spaceship hair glistening in the sun while an army of bloggers wrote about how pretty and deep she was. Eventually I caved to temptation, and jumped at the first reactivation offer they sent me.

Now I'm a leet carbear space-trucking industrialist freedom fighter rocket scientist/quantam physicist with a gambling addiction; suck on that SWTOR.

Needless to say I have a newfound appreciation for CCP...

I like Eve because

1. My characters can progress even when I'm deployed or when I don't feel like logging on.

2. The complexity of the game. I really enjoy the fact you need to search for information to progress in a meaningful manner.

3. The wide variety of options. Mining, missions, incursions, exploration, fleets, market, industry, there is so much to do in the game.

* It's grows, big ambitions: WiS, Dust 514, and updates.
* Cool graphics.
* Skill system.
* Space.

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?
