For what it's worth I've seen the demonstratory video and actually witnessed the same ceremony first hand. I saw no use of force, no threats overt or otherwise, and to cap things off I was asked if I would like to participate and go through the same ceremony myself. I politely declined and rather than being frowned at or forced, I was offered beverages and cakes to enjoy while continuing to speak with various CTCS members.

And this bit is mostly for Mr. Pitoojee. You'll notice the passage you quoted (from the Explanatory Leaflet I believe) does not specify as to the actual amount of draining of blood to take place. Considering I am not a CTCS member and a known student of all faiths I can find information on, it's safe to say I am probably what the CTCS would consider Unrighteous. Yet as I just mentioned I was offered a chance to participate, was freely able to decline, and am still on rather amicable terms with those CTCS members that I know. So either I'm an exception to the situation you've posed, or you're leaping to conclusions.

I have to say; certain pilots' attempts at spin failed miserably. Before perusing this thread, I shared none of the inclinations towards the CTCS as my superior, Rek. However, I'm certainly more intriqued now. Synthia, please send me the explanatory leaflet.

See, here's the thing.

The nature of CTCS has not bothered people before, so why should it now, hmmm?

The answer is of course, Obvious.

People are flailing, trying to avoid the consequence of their actions. When it is pointed out "oh my, they are friends of Those People", then people get flustered and say "no, but, umm".

The Amarr Militia, in the form of Esna Pitoojee there, have pointed out something. And others have denied it, saying something else.

So, If we are Neutrals, then to some, the moral high ground has been Lost. "Oh, you are friends with those, hmm?" they will say.

If we are Reds, then the Amarr Militia have strongarmed things, which people will criticise. "Oh, you do what the Amarr tell you, hmm?" they will say.

At this point, the nature of CTCS ceremonies involving volunteer participants no longer matters.

So then.

You sound like you contribute nothing new or useful to the conversation at hand.

They've spoken out against slavery as being Unrighteous here on IGS. They oppose the Empire's Theology Council. They've helped a close friend via research that, if I recall correctly, could potentially aid Matari cluster-wide. If you can't see the logic behind this move and view it as manipulation, you are misperceiving the situation.

Is it a non-lethal, consensual ritual involving blood? If so, I do not see the harm in it. If there exists evidence that CTCS has engaged in forced raids for blood, then of course I agree: that would be a gruesome, terrible thing. So far no such evidence has been brought up.

The question remains unanswered. You seem unwilling to confirm or deny publicly if your organization supports or conducts raids against those who do not share your faith. Opposition to mainstream Amarr does not exclude the possibility of ill intent regarding your operations in Minmatar space.

From an explanation leaflet about the Church of the Crimson Savior (distributed by Valerie, Ava Starfire got a copy of it when she was still a member of Teraa Matar):

Quote:
Therefore, raiding the Unrighteous, and offering them conversion to the Blood Friends, is a noble act. Those that convert, are Saved, yaay. Those that don't, their blood is drained, allowing them to be close to God and be saved that way instead, yaay.
They prefer non-lethal blood draining, though, for the goal of causing delirium and using "appropriate suggestions" to bring those drained closer to their god.

I hope this helps you in making an informed decision.
