That would be funny if there was actually anything wrong with my posting.

Hello Fallout, thanks for reading.

This thread has an example of this issue. I assume it's something going a bit wrong when quoting?

EDIT: OH SNAP

The problem seems to be that you can't have a % sign in the same post as an [url] code.

Does ASP by any chance use % to denote variables in some sprintf-like function?

Ah, we've already a defect on that. The problem is that it's not the code but the URL you guys are trying to use. If you URL has URL encoding, an error like that will be returned. To fix the problem in the meantime, the workaround is to change the URL encoding to an actual character. This URL has information on what is what: linky

I don't wish to appear rude but are you suggesting that it is our fault for posting unreasonable things like a link to a web page, which the forum cannot interpret?

No. I don't think anyone should finagle URLs to get them to work, tbh.

The problem also occurs without any URL encoding (see my broken post above) , but that is possibly another alternative — the [url]-tag parser notices that percent sign and gets mighty confused when it does not appear within the actual URL that it is trying to parse…

edit: Of course, since I quoted your (normally working) link and then added the actual percent sign, this post broke too. But that just further proves the point — it's the combination of [url] and percent signs that breaks things, regardless of where in the post the percent sign appears.

No, Fallout was merely stating that they already know about the defect and have found a workaround for us to use in the meantime while they get it fixed.
