"Hey, where do all these ships we fly come from?"

"People build them."

"Out of what?"

"Minerals."

"Where do those come from?"

"Mining ships."

"Let's go blow up all the mining ships! Then there when all the other ships get blown up, including ours, there won't be any replacements! The entire game will slowly grind to a halt! Everyone loses!"

"Excellent idea, let's get right on it!"

Goonswarm logic at it's finest.

Are you sure you know where minerals come from, Cause not all of them are from mining. Also hulkageddon is primarily a hi sec event. Most of nullsec / wormholeers continue to mine away pointing there fingers laughin at hi sec.

RollYou can get plenty of minerals from meta0 loot and Rogue drones!.........oh wait, that was just nerfed........

Meta 1-4 hasn't, and you get more from that than meta0...But no one reprocs that jazz right /me whirlyhips... ....

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

Or you could just fit your hulks with faction/deadspace/officer mods and lol at the gankers when they come for you. It works, true story.

My entire thrasher gang lost to a hulk fitted like so, we hate you rich carebears and your invincible hulks :(

I was wondering...
Many gankers will be flying T3 BC and will roam belt to belt.
Why don't you mine missions asteroids?
Do you think gankers will lose time to scan you?

Ok so if low mineral prices are the reason for hulkegeddon then isn't it kind of counter productive since low mineral prices should be a good thing miners sell the minerals at the low price inustrials buy the minerals build the ships and mods put them on the market for decent price the missioners and pvpers buy the ships and mods everyone profits except the pvpers since the only way they make isk from blowing up other people is from the loot they steal.

If they run out of targets and see hulks on directional, they will.

It is a bit safer then mining the belts though. My advice however would be: don't mine.

^^^^Words of a wise man here^^^^

I can hard lock you after i see you on directional in about 10 seconds, and i know there are people out there better than I am, ffs, don't mine if you don't want to die to people like me.

E: To all the miners who are bleating like scared sheep about the ebil gankers coming to kill them in their belts when all they were doing was mining peacefully, the gankers are increasing your "wages" so to speak by causing mineral prices to go up. So, when you see a ganker pop a scrub's hulk in a belt because he was too stupid to read the forum, thank the ganker for increasing your profits later on... after all, the gankers are there to help prune the idiots from the game who drive down the prices you get paid for work.

Mining Hulls will be put away...

Now fitting Dessies for the sole purpose of ganking any and all Dessies/T3 BC in my region.

Thanks to the mineral prices soaring, I will use my isk surplus to fit and use the same tactics used against me and my fellow mining kin.

I will take your souless, rotted hulls and refine them into more delicious minerals.

No need for hulks this month. I now introduce DEATH MINING Twisted

Oh yes they will indeed. Many times over. They care not.

Well, you were right, my fleetmate lost a Scythe to a gank. Funny how certain things said come back to haunt you, huh? Shocked

He had it insured though, and Scythes are pretty cheap on the market. He also handled his loss well by saying in local he was impressed by how well it was executed.

I've posted this elsewhere, but a good mining battleship can pull in an impressive yield. 8 Miners IIs with lowslots full of MLUs and a solid shield tank should stop all but the most determined ganker, and the suggestion of officer/deadspace mods for the shield tank would almost guarantee that you will live long enough for concord to save you. If you really want to max out your chances, partner up with 2 of you guys, and have each person put 5 heavy shield rep drones on the other guy.

You will be a juicy target, but not an easy one, and that fit should be almost able to keep up with a hulk on yield.

Booooh... ;). Mining on/off since 2007 and never took so much as a dint in my shields so far. As mining tends to be tedious I'm quite happy about the occasional would-be backyard bully, he/she is the only entertainment to be had from mining after all. So, keep trying, pretty please!

For the month of Hulkageddon, the new mineral of choice is Redpodmium.

Redpodmium,: the delicious juicy pulp of an extinguished pod from a carebear hunter.

Usually found in space next to 2 wrecks and a non red pod, These fruits grow and ripen quickly, so you must be ready, the entire life cycle is over in seconds, but an efficient harvester can claim the juice and the withered husk of the former pod. Additional joy can be obtained from the shells of the former resting places for these harvested podlings. Care must be taken as there is some risk of becoming a podling yourself with the genetic changes to the display where a ripe and near ripe podling now both have similar red flashing coloration after liberation from the husk.

8 mining lasers and lowslots full of mlus are also impossible to fit. Best I have managed is 3 mlus on a rokh. 4 if you are ok with empty mids.

Been 3 years since I did it, and more than 3 MLUs is useless anyway due to stacking penalty.

And your comment does not invalid what I am saying.
