Is it fair that CCP can get away with a stealth nerf to Orca's?

If you had read the thread you are linking to then you would have noticed that it is a bug and that the devs want it to be a fleet hangar. So expect it to return to its original functionality.

If you are out mining right now then you have other problems to worry about. The bug also affects gankers who carry lots of destroyers in an Orca around. Their ganking alts will have the problem, too.

Miners should play the game like everyone else, always having the risk of your ship popping while out in space.

Considering the paper hull on most mining ships, I don't think there is a lot of safety for them now..... Shocked

You'd think so, but with the vast majority of miners running scripts and bots to make them run away if a hostile entity enters the system, you'd be wrong.

Why add extra tedious arthritis inducing keystrokes and mouse clicks to the operations of legit legit miners and their corporations. Unless its CCP's intention to make mining a much more frustrating and tedious experience.

Nobody "legit" is in an NPC corp with enough SP to fly an orca. They're abusing a mechanic meant to protect the newbie who still hasn't figured out how to turn his shield booster on in order to get permanent war immunity.

You act like this is the first of stealth 'modifications' they've done.

Who's the more foolish the fool or the fool who replies to him?

I love EGD, if replies like this could kill, this forum would be a graveyard.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

Why'd your signature get removed? Because it isn't your game, right?

It isn't, but it is a widely placed one, certain not to go unnoticed. And it erodes any relationship building that has been done by CCP toward the playerbase over the last half-year by not engaging with them on changes that strongly affect gameplay.

and the next dev response is they have no intention of allowing npc corps to access corp. hangers

Read the whole second comment or at least try.

not so just had a 4 year old player want to join my corp that I made so I could use my alt with my orc :) 4 years in a npc corp now that is rare but it is done

we'll see if it gets fixed but I doubt it when ccp clams up it usally means deal with it hence I made me and my little corp :) and 4 alts

The problem (again) with CCP doing that, and hopefully it's only the weekend making this appear so, is that it's the worst way to address player issues in the long run. And it becomes a habit for the staff because it's an 'easy' way to deal with players in the short term. So players and the gamemakers become more and more distant from each other and it becomes much more difficult for the company to keep up with gamers with whom they don't communicate and no longer have a relationship that works. The players drift off and the company doesn't understand why, and so can't really address it. (Hi Bliz, how's that sub base going?)
