Solo pvp cruiser or BC

Okay, i'm looking to get into solo pvp to get experience doing so aswell to get my survival instincts up as far as FCing goes as they both go hand in hand. What i am looking for is a cruiser or BC fit that is solid for pvp.

The thing is however, i can't use missiles so missile boats are out of the picture. However i do have full t2 medium turrets aswell as full t2 drone capability up to ogres, i do not have the other drone specs high enough for those t2 heavies yet at this point. Also, i'm looking at t1 cruisers / BC's , so no faction or pirate ships.

So, if you got suggestions of fits and what makes them strong and weak i'm all ears.

OP said no missile skills.

You second suggestion is much better though. The hurricane is an amazing ship, and you can fit it numerous ways to try and find what works best for you. The best solo options are either the shield gank cane, or armor plated with double webs. Either way, you should fit:

6 guns (220s or 425s)
2 neuts (pref mediums)

Shield mids:
LSE
Invuln
Disruptor
MWD

Shield lows:
3x Gyro
1x TE
1x Nano
1x DCU (Or another nano/TE)

1 EM and 2 Extender rigs

Armor mids:
Disruptor
2x Webs
MWD

Armor Lows:
1600mm Rolled Tungsten plate
2x EANM
DCU
2x Gyros

3x Trimarks

Always preferred the dual-web/armor 'Cane over the shield gank 'Cane. I concede that the shield version often does a little more deeps...but the armor one has better longevity, which I like. You know, incase **** goes wrong.

1) get into solo pvp to get experience

2) a cruiser or BC solid for pvp

In the absence of (1) your advice would be a good reply to (2) given the race skill set. But combining 1 and 2 its somehwat off...

My favourite Myrm is dual rep+web with Ions and NOS. A solid all-rounder. Myrm is slow, so dual webs really helps keeping opponents in range. Obviously you can put something else there, some people prefer ECCM, a meta 4 tracking comp will also fit. Has best range w/null of these three fits, and is a bit chiller to manage than three reps+two boosters. Tanks explosive damage better than the triple reps.

To put EFT tanking numbers into some perspective: I soloed a 1100 dps Brutix with the dual rep, while ofc high on Standard Exile (but no links), fight was very tight & extra good! I burnt out both reps and was in deep structure when he popped, and my corpie managed to arrive and cause 1 point of damage, ruining the KM :D. A maxed out Tengu didn't have the slightest chance of even coming close to breaking the tank, obviously Myrm doesn't have the dps at range to break a Tengu either. With links the dual rep can solo C3 anoms like it's a L3.

Does not have speed-GTFO option of a Nanocane, but if you get the webs on him, he will inevitably die- like most ships solo. At some point you will run out of cap booster charges, but it is long after a BC buffer would be worn down. If you get kited solo (which is not a huge issue as most ships can't break your tank from a distance), align out, throw ECMs and wait for the lock to break. If you get blobbed, you die in any ship.

Null, Void, CNAM, Navy Cap Boosters 400s and Standard Exile in cargo.

Triple rep AC fit for those with projectile skills, more omni reps and decent compromise of dps/range, and has better cap life than the blaster fit below, requires no implants to fit:

And triple rep Electron fit for those with hybrid skills (needs a fitting implant), best close range dps w/Void out of all three:

Myrmidon is the Rocky Balboa of space. You punch him down, and he gets back up, while screaming AAADRIAAAN, covered in blood, again and again, and in the end lands the final blow like a proper hero. Even if it wouldn't be a universal win all-button, it's amazingly engaging and fun to fly.

1600er Vexor, made my first solo kills and still lives to tell the story. Can tank Gateguns for a good time and dishes out nice damage even with small neutron blasters.

I just a love my blaster talos unfortunately it needs someone to tackle for you, so it's not a solo BC you're looking for.
Myrm works decently and I don't think that brutix is that bad either now that null is actually useful.
Bear in mind that as myrmidon has no weapon bonuses its best to use it with autocannons to conserve your capacitor.

Minmatar of c. is an obvious choice for solo pvp and amarr line up isn't really that bad as they say, they are just so terribly vulnerable to neuts.
Amarr line up also has the curse and I dunno which one is hated more in small gang PvP these days, ECM drones or a curse sucking you dry ?

Except with blasters and two webs.

Autocannons work too but blasters are less minmatar, which is a good thing.

T1 non faction cruisers are pretty much outclassed by BC's and it used to be that the price after insurance wasn't an issue. Nowadays tho, maybe the price difference is large enough to make a difference idk.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

This is good stuff an covers most everything you need to know about a myrm. Only drawback is high skills in a broad area to fully max the potential. And if you can get an offgrid booster for your "solo" work the triple rep tank goes from good to amazing!

All solid suggestions, and i can fit pretty much all of those suggested fits, all i'd need to do is to downgrade the webs and scrams since i can't use those at t2.

The hurricane looks amazing, but the myrmidon has a special place in my heart, considering i can use full t2 mediums sized turrets aswell as full t2 drone supports expect some prereqs for the heavies (only heavies i can use are ogres) and drone durability 5, all solid choices.

I'll experiment abit see which one i like the best, but right now the dualrep/tripple rep myrmidon is by far my favourite, aswell as i've allways wanted to try and use it in pvp.

The "nanocane" fit someone linked above is the one I'd recommend for BC.

With the Myrm you're in the fight until the end, come what may. With the cane you have the "gtfo" ability.

I'd suggest that "gtfo" ability is better when you start soloing.

However I strongly recommend you begin your solo PvP career in a frigate or destroyer class ship.
