I'm not quite sure, but i think the writer needs a big smack on the head.

They are translating the Chinese to English, and the Chinese name translates into "star wars" in English, they don't mean "Star Wars(TM)" they mean wars amongst the stars kinda.

Only then you could say that EVE don't have shards.

Well that's not entirely true, you see, you have the world.... and then you have china.
If india were to join EVE, they would need a separate server for that too.

Reason 1:
China and india both have about as much inhabitants as the rest of the world combined

Reason 2:
In china, bots are of organic nature ( if you know what i mean )

LOL...
i don't know why but i LOLed... Lol

Yea... whats up with India???
anyone from there is playing EVE?
1,5 billion people is nice market and its not closed as China.

And why would you need separate server for India? What?

So I think something with the hosts of the servers going bankrupt... I think they are going to find a new hosting partner or something thou.

or its the fact that China doesn't allow a whole bunch of things on its internet. Mostly thing that we try to do and say.

It has nothing to do with size of india's or china's population, I am sure there are indian players in eve allready.

Funny how CCP loves to announce its accomplishments, but its embarrassments are always buried.
The linked article offers no useable information, btw.

The stars are at war with each other. (Like a Hollywood divorce, maybe?)

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

So, looking at the server status, it definately looks like it is UP to me. There just isn't anybody on it. Server status shows OK but no players. I would guess its an issue with the login server but not the server itself?

Certainly looks like it, it was probably costing them too much to run with so few subscribers. The Chinese clearly dont like making their own content in a game it has to be fed to them or they loose interest.

Either that or the Chiense governamnt didnt like their citizens mixing with Americans and Europeans through a game so they forced CCP to close it down (this does actually sound plausible)

Hm... capitalist game in extremely controlling communist country
Yeah that plan isnt doomed to failure

Mining is the "Deadliest Catch" in this game

You have not been to China I take it. The term "communist" should be used loosely if you are trying to apply it to the economic system. In many ways China's economy is now capitalism on steroids.

Hopefully they will not convulse through a harsh dogmatic crackdown on growing income and class inequality.

Remember Chinese doesn't have declensions so the word for "War" and "Wars" are the same. Also the word for Battle and War are often interchangeable.
So it possible that the word for "Space Battle Themed" wound up being translated as "Star Wars (TM) Themed"

Anyone have a link to the original article?

In EVE yes, but that's possibly only because china isn't on our server.

Have you ever seen the news article about what prison guards in China demand their inmates to do?

No?
Well here goes, they make the inmates farm gold in various games, so that the guards can sell it to make something extra on the side.
If they don't farm enough, they get a serious beating and if they farm a lot, the guards make sure you stay an inmate just that little bit longer.

True story this, didn't just make this up.
