What the Idiot is doing is forcing CCP's hand to decide where this game is going to be in 2 years. Unfortunately, this tactic is so anti-thetical to ANY business model, that CCP WILL step in and adjust things at somepoint if this is indeed carried out.

And that is not 'paranoid carebear thinking'. THAT is business reality. The Idiot forgets that EVE is not a toy to CCP.

These are the simple facts, CCP will continue to see their subscription shrink and they will have to respond. The question is will players be willing to return after all this crap.

It all went wrong when CCP allowed grieving, as we all saw at fanfeast this year, there is no end to what someone is willing to do if grieving goes unchecked. With the upcoming changes to war mechanics maybe its time for CCP to stop grieving in its tracks.

Combine this with the mineral deflation being fixed and it's a good time to be an industrialist.
…not to mention that, with a bit of luck, some of the competition will end up on that list, distracting them from constantly stealing your deals. Blink

It would actually be amusing if they took contracts do do stuff like that.

Granted, it's more like getting smartbombs rather than lazers, so if you want them to clear a belt of opposing miners, you better stay docked until they're gone. But still ~ I think they will show up with their CFC corp badge so if you see a group, convo them and maybe if they hear of some hulks, who knows what might happen ~~

But don't worry, Riverini's group has decided to attack ! So we're in for a real spectacle from his "game press" website. Stay tuned for tales of our fail cascade.

We opened to Tenal back then, and I went ratting. There was one guy in system, I tried to scare him away with combat probes, and he lolled in local something like "Dude take the system next door, this whole place is empty as the owners are too busy running from the Goons" Big smile Well, he was right and it was absolutely empty everywhere.

Not really, no.

To be fair, doing so would leave goons with very few to shoot at this point, after the near-constant harassment people have been mounting against the alliance and its leadership…

“Continue”? It would have to start before it can “continue”, and so far, it's exactly these kinds of grand events that have made EVE grow year after year. They did respond: their chief marketing officer used Goons as an example of what makes EVE sell and of what keeps it in the limelight, not just in the gaming media, but in mainstream media as well.

Why wouldn't people be allowed to grieve? You can't really control it when your loved ones die, and how you react to that loss.

On a completely unrelated note, did you know that griefing isn't allowed in EVE?

EVE is the only Sandbox MMO out there. The only other one on the horizon is World of Darkness, which -- gasp -- is also owned by CCP.

So not only does CCP support the Sandbox, a Sandbox where a PVP alliance can swoop in and murder people at random (EVE) or a Sandbox where a PVP alliance can perma-kill players they don't like (WoD), they are quite literally betting their future on it.

In short: Maybe EVE isn't for you.

Yes, they didn't want that region. Uh, people were running complexes in the middle of the "war", it was pretty silly.

Given that it took only a week to shoot all the structures, it was just good that the razor people were on top of all the pos dropping and stuff, since logistics had to deal with all the tech in venal immediately aferwards.

Still, we got something good out of the wars: hilarious CEO updates, NC. whines about us being titan blobbers (we blob everything anyway).

These are "the simple facts": their subscriptions aren't shrinking. Sorry to humiliate you by pointing out that you're supporting your point with a flat out lie, but CCP recently confirmed that EVE's subs are higher than they've ever been.

The actual simple facts are that EVE's subscriptions only shrank whilst CCP neglected the "grieving" part of the game. Every other period of the game saw an increase. And that increase was fastest whilst the rules were loosest.

A first order business analysis would conclude that non consensual PvP should be buffed and encouraged, not reduced.

I now return you to your wonderful world of simply making things up to support your prejudices. Carry on!

Imagine if you would be playing a unique, ultra-modern sci-fi themed MMO. In this game, you would be an immortal being, piloting huge-ass spaceships and commanding the wealth of the nations. The single-shard universe of this game would be dynamic, shaped by player actions, with deep and complex gameplay mechanics giving birth to a multitude of behavioral patterns, which in turn form living subcultures totally unique to the virtual universe of this game.

Sounds cool, right?

Now imagine this game has no Evil. No Horde. It's so mature and realistic, that "evil" and "good" are just shades of neutral. Terrible actions can be justified. It's farmable NPCs are so faceless and stupid, that you couldn't really hate or fear them. People engage in minor conflicts, some over territory, most just for thirst of blood.

Then a creative player enters the field. He dreams big, and has worked tediously to achieve a position where he has the resources to make these dreams real in the game universe. What is his dream?

... his dream is lolz
and stroking his ego

Good job helping him btw

almost forgot; breaking the game you like to play so that when/if the company running the game every punishes him for his actions and the actions of his friends to SAVE the game it can only be called a Phyrric victory. To save the game they have to break the game. Its a win/win for him and a lose/lose for us.
