So many Cap/supercap alts, ganking alts (wouldn't want to be caught in Jita when ~elite pvp~ shows up in VFK) and afk cloak camping alts. It's hilarious ~

Because it's roughly equivalent in the US to calling someone a pedophile and was tied to his real name. It wasn't "Mittani is a Cyberbully" (which he isn't and wasn't), it was "-Mittani's Real Name- is a Cyberbully."

It's the same thing as that freakjob publishing Mittani's IRL address in the EVE Radio chat after the interview wtih Mittani about all this, and the other aspie announcing he was going to go sexually assault Mittani's wife. There's "in game," and there's "out of game" and the two must be kept separate.

The shithead NPC Sockpuppet alts and their complacent friends in the Gaming Media violated this. Intentionally, alongside attempting to destroy the CCP / Sony deal, all in a tantrum because some Goon blew up their Ice Miner Bot and cost them a few hours of botting time.

There are ways CCP can alter the dynamic without being heavy handed and without saying a word. It can still be a sandbox, but nothing is stopping them from altering the sand.

It ~is~ a game, but there is big money at stake, people's livelihoods at stake, Sony watching closely, etc. If we think that CCP will sit by and let one man or one group destroy EVE we are mistaken.

Lets just hope that if CCP is compelled to respond they reach for something other than a hammer to do it. Given some of the other 'fixes' they have done over the last year or so I am not confident that they can unfortunately.
