Looking to start an EVE Olympics where players can have "1 VS 1" T1 Frig battles for prizes.
I am willing to .

1) Provide a prize of 1 Billion ISk to winner of tournement. Every 2 weeks, new tournement.

Need help with ideas for
1) How to PVP in High Sec without Concord
2) How to track kills
3) How to advertise games.

I wish you luck. PVP in high sec is easy enough just drop cans or whatever.

I'd imagine you intend to witness and officiate these tournaments? Just keep track of the tournaments on google docs or something.

Advertise on the forums, create an in game channel.

People will try to ruin your fun so you should be prepared to deal with that. If you make rules make sure you can A:determine if someone is cheating and B:enforce the rules.

Good luck to you, if you get it going please let me know.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

Maybe it should be set up so that they would (for the duration of the event) join a specific event corp, so that PvP could happen at will. It would also allow for you (as likely CEO) to kick those who don't follow whatever rules you set up (after podding themBig smile).

I would certainly join in if I had time, though I wouldn't even make it past the first round.

Advertising: forums help some, but for a large number you will need to get in game and do it.
My suggestion, advertise a little in trade hubs, but do not over do it. A few times throughout the day should be fine and won't be as annoying as the EVElowhateverpus spam.

EDIT: also to avoid off grid (or on grid for that matter) boosting, make it so that combatants must be in the same fleet with you (or whoever is officiating).

Good luck with this.

This is very sweet and i wish you the best of luck

You seem like a normal person who is well adjusted and may have a wife and children.

be prepared for people to try to ruin it for you though.

These are the people who tend to cry themselves to sleep through gritted teeth when they log out and realise that they do not exist outside of the game.

As already said

1. keep records of your winners and losers
2. Can dropping will be good enough
3. Be prepared for people trying to ruin it and dont get annoyed when they do.
4. Be tough on Idiots who are there to spoil things
I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion.

Yes, have five kids and a wife that's very cool and let's me play games..

Adding..

I think the corp Idea is the way to go, since can flipping can allow others in the players corp to join in the battle. If it was same corp for the duration of the tournement there would be more control. Also each player in the corp could setup their own match ups without me any other monitors being being online due to time zones.

More Questions.

1) What would it take ISK wise for players to join a corp for a two week duration and participate and not try to exploit just for kicks. I think 1 billion might be too low. Maybe 1st prize $5billion, 2nd Prize $3Billion, 3rd Prize $1billion.

I have the ISK to start it a will do this if it can work logically, so any ideas to make it a good experience would help. The goal is to promote a fair PVP experience for the most part.

If you have ideas for rules, etc... please post or send me and in game evemail.
This is what I have so far.

1) T1 frigates ships (no faction or T2)
2) SP doesn't matter. (it's guts or nothing)
3) Risk your own modules, because the winner takes the loot. So no limits there.
4) Same place for battles (Luminaire, same planet or moon, etc, ) that way a crowd of corp guys can help monitor the battles.
5) players can donate ships, modules to the corp hanger if they want for poor players.
6) Absolutely no Podding allowed, since I think concord would bust that anyway in high sec..

Help with your comments. Looking to start within a week or so.
