CCP was quite satisfied with it otherwise CCP wouldn't have had 'long meetings' about it. It was the user base that doesn't like the stale mechanics of Entosis links. Call it what it is and quit trying to mislead us. This tactic is getting real, REAL old and I am sure it plays a role in your bleeding of users. I know, cause I am ready to permanently close my 3+ accounts over it.

To be blunt, I didn't have your specific little special feelings in mind when I wrote the blog. I am a senior game designer, not a PR person. Of course a portion of the player base doesn't like the Entosis mechanics, and of course that played a role in our meetings. Of course player feedback influenced the team decision to adopt straight damage for structures.

That doesn't change the fact the team also wanted to bring this straight damage connection back in the game, for the reasons we explained in the blog. We were not trying to mislead you on purpose, we were trying to make you happy. Of all the things you could say, that is what you come up with? How about, thank you? Sad

I am not sure how much you realize how open-minded and communicative we are trying to be here. Especially guys like CCP Nullarbor who are doing their very best to tell you guys about changes we are not even sure yet. Ask the CSM to which lengths we are willing to go to adapt our designs to make sure the Citadel release brings the enjoyment you guys deserve.

To be selfishly honest here, it would be much simpler for us to cover our ears and just go straight for the initial designs we first thought of. That doesn't require any drastic changes in the concept, no extra damage calculation, no HP mitigation and so on. We wouldn't have to spend time reading the forums, reddit, speaking on Slack, with the CSM or other communication channels we usually monitor. Every time we iterate on a feature we have to spend quite a significant amount of resources to implement it. That costs man-hours.

We are willing to go to the extra mile to try and come up with the best feature we possibly can. You have no idea how disheartening this kind of message can be after you've spent months trying to come up with the best possible option.

Of course, we can make mistakes, which is why we are trying to be open in our approach, we want, no we need your feedback. But by the love of whatever god you praise, please be constructive when you do so. We deserve some minimum amount of respect, and this kind of posts serves little practical purpose.

    Thank you.

CSM Confirming Yitterbaum and Nulabor are literally BOSS F$#%^&* TIER. The communication from these guys and their team has been nothing short of amazing.

I have known DHB Wildcat since we befriended each other in late 2005. He was FC for Huzzah Federation and I was a FC for Firmus Ixion. Lots of spirited fights with fun and respectful banter in local. Did alot of roaming with Wildcat back in the day and then played together a long time when he was Burn Eden. This is what I know about Wildcat ( I say this with affection because he is a old friend) "Wildcat is the last of the Honorbound F#gg*ts left in EVE". Think it's sad that Hydra did the predictable SMEAR POST after Wildcat manned up and told the truth.

  • Capital & Super Rebalance Suggestions in EVE Technology and Research Center

    Capital & Super Rebalance Suggestions

    Prologue:
The overarching strategy in these proposed changes is to give players meaningful reasons to field these ships in an environment where structure grinding doesn’t exist.
Reducing the cost and adding utility to all classes is imho low hanging fruit that’s easily sniped. On the subject of reducing cost it is imperative that Supercarriers and Titans are reduced so that the price point isn’t a deterring factor in fielding them in subcapital fights. I feel these changes will give all classes unique roles and reason for players to field them.

    Dreadnaught
Add Corporate Hangar and Ship Maintenance Bay ( The rationale for this is many new players when training for their first capital typically skill for a carrier for the utility of the suitcase adding a SMA & SMA allows players to instead choose which ship is more fun , useful for them).
Change hull bonus out of siege dread does around 7.5k dps. Tracking only allows it to hit capital sized ships. Is not EWAR immune and can receive remote assistance.
When dread enters siege it has highly improved tracking and does somewhere between 1-2k dps allowing it to hit subcapitals (dps amount is debateable , I think it should be higher than a short range BS but not more than double so imho 2k dps should be the ceiling). Dread cannot receive remote assistance while in siege but is EWAR immune.
    Carrier
Increase Corporate Hangar and Ship Maintenance hangar size.
Split existing carrier into 2 hulls per race.
Logistics Carrier - Bonuses to Rep range , power. Capacitor Transfer range & power. Penalty to drone dps.
DPS Carrier - Bonuses to Drone Damage penalties to remote assistance.
The overarching idea is to kill the slowcat and limit the carriers ability to do all things good at one time. On patch day when players login they will choose which type of carrier they want their existing carriers to be (If this is impractical due to coding etc then I suggest turning existing carriers into the logistic carrier).
Separate the fighter & drone bay. (suggest fighter bay being able to hold 20 fighters and the drone bay being 2-4k)
    Buff fighter ehp.
Change Drone Control Units to affect Fighter HP & Resistance.
Can the Nidhogger not be so bad please?

    Supercarriers
Reduce hull cost (suggestion 3-5 billion isk to build a hull)
Increase Corporate Hangar and Ship Maintenance Bay as well as Fuel Bay (suggest at least double the current size)
Separate Fighter & Fighter Bomber bays allow for 20 of each in each bay.
Change Drone Control Units to affect Fighter & Fighterbomber HP & Resistance.
Create Supercarrier specific module “Space Harpoon”. High slot module that allows the Supercarrier to Harpoon another Capital or Supercapital and prevent it from warping. The Harpoon can then be reeled in. If the mass of the target is lower than the Supercarrier the result is the target will be dragged to the Supercarrier. If the mass is higher the result is Supercarrier is dragged to the target. This also creates unique gameplay opportunities for multiple supercarriers to team up and drag titans and heavier targets. Space Harpoons can affect sieged/triaged targets. Furthermore the Space Harpoon should be able to Harpoon to structures and pull themselves to the structure. Suggested Harpoon Range 75km for meta 1 and 100km for named/faction. Comparable fitting needs to the ECM Burst.
    Titans
Reduce hull cost. (suggestion 15-20 billion isk to build a hull)
Increase Corporate Hangar and Ship Maintenance Bay as well as Fuel Bay (suggest at least double the current size)
The titan should be the ultimate capital/supercapital killer. Increase turret DPS so that the titan does 50% more turret dmg than any other capitals possible maximum dps.
Add scriptable highslot module that does an AOE or Cone force pull or push ( Heavy Interdictors are immune). This will give the titan great utility in subcap fights allowing it to reshape the battlefield. 10 min cooldown same rules apply as DDD.
Double the amount of clones the clone vat bay can store. (With increased CHA/SMA size coupled with clonevat size this will allow the titan to be used in covert roles. Sneak into position summon a fleet strike and disappear.
    Rorqual
Remove Ore Compression Bonus and Mission
Create Capital Sized Gas Harvester’s , Mining Lasers , Moon Extractors
The Rorq becomes the ultimate expression of resource extraction when it enters siege allowing it extract resources from Clouds , Asteroids and Moons at rates beyond the capability of any other known device or mechanism.
Normal Siege rules apply 5mins cycle can’t receive remote assistance and is EWAR immune.
Increase ore bay size so that the rorq can do 2-3 cycles of siege before needing to empty.
    Modules
    Space Harpoon
    Titan Force Mod
Capital sized Gas Harvester , Moon Harvester , Mining Lasers and requisite meta/faction versions
Capital Sized Energy Neutralizers and Nosferatu’s
Drone Control Unit change to affect Fighter & Fighter Bomber EHP/Resistances.

  • [Aegis] More balance! - Ishtars, DDAs and the Tempest in EVE Technology and Research Center

    Dez Affinity wrote:
The beauty of this Ishtar thing is that you guys haven't learned a thing.

You introduced DDAs, DPS goes up because the base damage was already somewhat balanced but applying it is still difficult with drone mwd speed, tracking and the easy killing of mobile drones.
But then you introduced Omnis and suddenly sentries are doubling their range and tracking. Projection goes crazy.
Double down on the change by giving a bunch of ships optimal bonuses.

So you're still trying to figure out how to fix this mess while introducing tracking mods for missiles that are improving on ranges that are already balanced (if not op already on some bonused ships, barring HAM/Torps)

So the Ishtar will die, once you've figured out it's not the damage but the ability to kite and project damage so much better than anything else.

Then 150km Caracals, Cerbs and Ravens will be the flavour of the year you spend trying to figure out what went wrong, nerfing every mod and ship on the way down until you figure out those tracking mods were the cause.

Poor Amarr though, their drone ships are getting beat up and then their missile ships will get a kick in too. At least they've still got the zealot, right?

Despite the angered tone a good reasoned argument.

Weren't you elected to instill positive changes for a majority of the Eve Community? Or am I just being fickle thinking the CSM is supposed to do that.... I mean honestly. Didn't you guys take into consideration the myriad of problems this creates for people? Even if the intentions were good, the execution is utterly terrible. I mean really terrible.

Can't you guys come up with something better than this? I mean besides terrible icons and super skins for only half the titans at 35 USD a pop....

I mean we can suggest things and give feedback however at the end of the day its CCP who decides what goes in and what doesn't. With that said I wanted to see combat probing and bombers nerfed. This change accomplishes both. Is it exact optimum ? Thats subjective I have gotten lots of positive feedback and likes for my post in regards to the subject. However as normal it is usually those that are dissatisfied with a issue that are usually most vocal. Unfortunately with constraints of NDA sometimes its hard for CSM to explain positions clearly. Perhaps you don't feel this is a positive change but others do. I can remember a vocal portion of the community unhappy when the AOE doomsday was removed or when Jump Fatigue was added. I have to say I feel for CCP it is nigh impossible to please everyone all at the same time.

Phoebe was a necessity mainly due to the power projection your group had as a Super dominant force as well as others. But I digress. These changes are like cutting off ones foot to deal with trimming toe nails. Why not just deal with bombers directly? Why make the rest of us suffer with these changes? These are utterly rediculous in means and context.

All you are doing is placing more weight upon FC's and making people create more alts for nothing of benefit. I suggest you go to CCP and scrap this whole ordeal. If you want to nerf bombers deal with the platform directly. Not break an unbroken mechanic that already suffers from grid and placement issues.

I am a FC I feel no extra weight from this change and if I did. I get volunteers from fleet to help me.

I see our wormhole CSM is valiantly defending the life style of people in wormhole space....Roll

Yeah, it might be good for nullsec but have you really thought about the effects on wormhole space? Clearly not.

Warping yourself or warping to Wwwww's in fleet Zomgz life is over .

    Dearest nullsec CSM,

I have jumped through a wormhole and there are krabs (carebears) running sites. To find these krabs running sites launch combat probes and tell Sabres to jump, I then punt them to these krabs whether it be capitals or otherwise, to get initial tackle because krabs get very scared by the new signiture they see, or if they are just in the chain, the combat probes.

With the proposed changes I must combat probe them down, warp on grid, hope I don't get decloacked by a random object, sleeper, or player and then have the fleet warp in. And all the while krabs see the signiture and are able to scuttle away.

"You are so dumb luft we are just nerfing power projection in wh space" as Ccp has said. Well let us look at what they mean by that. Basically that means that krabs will be safer because that is who we as a community are projecting on. And two, that only large groups such as LZHX, HK, QEX, etc are doing this ganking and if you are attempting to slow them down from ganking carebears to keep wormhole space dangerous than that defeats the whole purpose of wormhole space.

Also beyond killing krabs there is warping a fleet to a hole with various classes of ships, triage, guardians, T3s, etc.

But I don't expect you to understand the magnitude of these changes to wormhole space life style, but I sure hope the two "wormhole csm" do.

Excuse typos its 4:20 am (lol) and I wrote this on my phone.

    1) Any changes that makes ganks require more skill (than 0 it requires now) are good.
    2) Manfred is not a null CSM, he's a blue donut CSM.
    3) wormhole has no CSM, the only wormhole CSM you had has defected to blue donut.

You know it really shows who you are when people are concerned about content quality and you just cry "mah free krabs are getting away!".

I hate blues blues should all die. You don't know me , who I am or what or what I don't support. Check yourself.
