Seriously, did you miss the entirety of tiericide?
I eat, sleep, and breathe tiericide and my post does nothing but exemplify it. I'm not sure how you fail to see that.

Umm... No, it's the opposite. Before tiericide, there were cheaper, less capable, but easier to get into versions of each factions frigates, cruisers, BC's & BS's. They got rid of those and equalized them by giving them roles. Before, the Prophecy, for example, was pretty much a cheap, easy to fit Harbinger.

Why is it funny/a joke? Many of us old timers remember mining in battleships when that's all we had. During the height of Hulkageddon (before it became a joke) plenty of people mined in battleships. Back when I still mined occassionally I would use a Rokh during HG.

Yeah. I only refit my old mining Rokh about a year ago. It used to be that the most common mining ships you'd see would be the Hulk & the Rokh. Hulk for max yield, Rokh for safety. You could not be AFK back then... Had to move ore into the jet-can almost constantly.

  • CNR Battleship Fitting (Help and Suggestions) in EVE Gameplay Center

If you want gank resistant - Navy Scorpion. I have one that I use for Jita runs, 220K+ EHP with a prop mod, without requiring any expensive modules.

Also, 1.3 million skill points is probably too low to consider flying a battleship. A active tank Navy Scorpion would be safer, if you absolutely must fly a battleship now. The resistance bonus & the extra mid slots for tank might make up for your lower skills.

Edit: Just as an FYI, most gank attempts are going to attempt to alpha you straight off the field. You'd be dead before shield boosters would help. It's all about prevention - don't use expensive modules. EHP helps, as it requires more effort to take down a high EHP target in a gank, and it's not profitable unless the fit has a silly amount of expensive modules on it.

    This.

Or... Stream your stream & have backup stay a jump behind. (And don't mention the backup on the stream.)

I'm pretty sure that they changed fleets to have no effect on Concord years ago. I could be wrong, as I don't run in high-sec fleets... It's corp membership that makes Concord turn a blind eye.

I wrote this before you added the 2nd post... Will have to give it a read... Big smile

Personally, I'd like to see randomized spawns and triggers on missions.

If you skip the guides which are available the first time you run the existing missions, many of them are actually fun or challenging the first time or two. After that, not so much.

Throw in a random chance of a group from another pirate faction spawning, vary reinforcement locations & consists, have a wave of pirate interceptors occasionally spawn directly on top of the players location. If you did all that, missions would gain a bit of replay value, along with being more challenging. All of that could be done without changing the overall rewards of the missions, making mission running a little more interesting and fun.

  • Bot Mining / AFK Cloaked Scout Solution in EVE Technology and Research Center

Great Solution. No more cyno alts, scouts, or anything else anyone might use a 2nd account for. And it doesn't fix either of the reasons you gave. Yeah, let's do that. (Sarcasm.)

  • Ran out ammo, quit Eve (jk) in EVE Communication Center

Eve does have some mean people in it... The funny thing is that they are often not the people who kill you should you venture to low-sec, null or w-space.

If you should die at the hands of someone, it's often worth striking up a conversation with them. (After you get your pod away... Always get your pod away. Big smile) Many seemingly vicious pirates can and will offer advise on how to survive, what you did wrong, etc. A good attitude tends to get one far in this game.

  • L4 BCs....??? in EVE Gameplay Center

If you are having that much trouble with level 4's (I saw your post in the WH forum, and it mentioned losing several BS's), the best thing to do would be to avoid any blockade, extravaganza, Assault, or similarly difficult mission, at least for the moment.

I'm not big on Drone BS's, so I can't give much advise on a geddon fit, but I would say to try using a MJD. A friend of mine who I helped out for a while was able to run level 4's successfully in a Rokh I loaned him when he was about 2 months old. His completion times were not especially great, but the MJD reduces risk as you can just warp out when in trouble.

If you are losing multiple BS's, to the point that you can't afford to replace them, you are doing something wrong. I've lost one BS in my 2 years of mission running. (A Raven on Attack of the Drones - I don't like looking at guides until after I've done a mission, and the spawns on that one were an amusing surprise... My drones were out when I triggered all 4 spawns at almost the same time.)

Edit: Or just stick with level 3's....

A smartbomb that pulls your opponent towards you, or away from you. No damage.

To reply more seriously, you should clarify exactly what you intend. A smartbomb that ignores all damage resistance is not really an idea that makes any sense - there is no way that can be balanced, unless it has pathetic damage.

Now, if you are talking about a module that works like a smartbomb, but only pulls or pushes ships within it's (small) radius, that might make a bit more sense, I suppose.

P.S. Now I have to find and listen the to Ur-Quan theme from SCII...

Check what dryson suggested above.I was thinking something like that with nice graphics that you could see the spheres or fields you launched at the opponent.Of course you could have counter measure for that.

That looks a bit more reasonable. (Assuming that you are not including resistance bypassing damage on top of the three other effects that this thing would have.)

It would probably more balanced to use the smartbomb sizes and AOE range.

I'm not really sure about that ECM & sensor dampener effect on top of it though.... If you were to do something like that, it should also involve a micro-warp drive style sig bloom. You'd have a dramatic effect on anything close to you, but you'd be taken apart by anything outside the AOE.

There is also the classic get 1 shotted by a couple nados, that's always a fun way to lose 10 hours of my life.

I want a fighting chance, i want the high sec gankers to put as much at risk as i am. I want a chance to learn something in pvp that isn't well i shouldn't have done that and now i'm boned by someone who does this for a living.

if no'1 in the OP becomes a reality, this will be half solved.

That's kinda questionable. PvP fits vary. And what performs well against one target may not perform as well against another, or perhaps even more of the same. I can see how more PvP like PvE could result in better PvP capable fittings, but that doesn't change the fact that an intruding aggressor is now closer to a 2v1 PvP scenario when you were fitted for a 1v1.

With the current agro rules, if done right, it's a 2 to 1 in favor of the missioner. Rats HATE any e-war, including warp scrambling.

Yes, quite so. Attempted genocide might be more accurate, though. I'm assuming that you are talking about the Trail of Tears. I am of Cherokee descent myself, so his attempt was not completely successful.
