  • [Citadels Release] New Tactical Overlay on Singularity! in EVE Technology and Research Center

I love this, it is beautiful. This is exactly what I hoped for when the tactical overlay was hinted at in the capital devblog

  • Project Discovery is now active on Singularity in EVE Technology and Research Center

1: It would be nice with a longer tutorial that explains more in-depth what we are actually doing here. I felt a bit dropped off at the deep end, clicking haphazardly. More training samples would be nice too.

2: the zoom function is quite awful, and the minimap obscures the lower right corner completely, meaning no players will ever scrutinize those parts of the sample.

3: the minigame window is a fixed, tiny size. issue #2 up there would be solved easily if you'd let us increase the size of the minigame window. we all have actual desktop computers with big monitors, there is no reason for us to sit and squint at a tiny stamp-sized area of our monitor. let us blow up the size of the minigame window (up to fullscreen size) in order to see better and more comfortably, without needing to pan-zoom around like we're playing a mobile game.

  • ***Petition*** Petition to keep the refitting mechanic as is! in EVE Technology and Research Center

Absolutely. The removal of remote repairs and cap transfers from carriers and supers is more than enough to nerf the current overpowered capital fleet gameplay.

Removing combat refitting would do nothing for the balance of the game, but instead remove interesting gameplay from Eve.

    If you check out CCP's reasoning from the dev blog;

    Quote:
The Swiss-army knife nature of refitting capitals makes trying to balance them impossible.

This is a weak argument. It smacks of 'we can't think of anything so we're just going to delete this gameplay'. I hope CCP changes course and instead faces the challenge of balancing ships with combat refitting still in play, head-on.

LOL - Nothing like keeping your focus groups narrow minded and single focused.

You really couldn't have a more biased focus group if you tried.

I feel sorry for the couple of WH guys - The odds of being listened to are well against you. As for the rest of Eve, again we get change to suit the worst aspects of Eve.

You're an idiot. There's 8 dedicated wormhole people, in addition there's lord's servant who has played in w-space a lot, a Thera dweller, the E-UNI guy who lives in w-space, and some HKRAB people among the PL people.

To compare, there's 8 sov null people. You should probably stop posting.

CCP you just ****** one of the largets fleet battels in eve history... THANKS!

In the attempt to improve the overall fight quality and node stability in the Z9PP system at 22:41 UTC by moving away all non-critical services from this node, our engineers unfortuntely made a mistake and actually moved the critical system from the current server node instead of moving all other systems. As result every pilot in this system lost connection to the node and therefore to Tranquility.

The system Z9PP is online and accessible again now.

It is extremely unfortunate to make such a mistake and we apologize deeply for disrupting one of the truly epic battles in the history of EVE; especially since this battle already raged on for several hours and was still heating up for more! We are very sorry about this incident and will make sure that such mistakes won't happen again.

The first thing you can do is to fire the people responsible. They clearly don't know what they are doing and should be working as GMs for EA or some ****.

You've been running this game for 10 years, going 'oops' in a 2000-man fight and then just saying you're sorry doesn't cut it any more.

  • Connection Timeout - how to log in with terrible internet in EVE Technology and Research Center

I now have one day left before my alt's skill queue runs out and will remain empty for two weeks.

No reply to this thread, obviously, and no kind of response to my petition either. It would be nice if I could at least get a 'sorry, you're ******, we hate customers that work abroad' post.

  • Connection Timeout - how to log in with terrible internet in EVE Technology and Research Center

    Hello,

I am presently stuck with terrible satellite internet, which means logging in to Eve presents me with the following error:

    Quote:
Connection Timeout - The client did not respond to the server's secure challenge within a reasonable amount of time.

Are there any settings I can change or append to the target path in a shortcut to the exe file to avoid this? Obviously what I need here is longer time to respond so I can actually log in and set skills.

I am set with a long skill on this character, but if there is no fix for this I am going to lose out on half a month+ of +5 remapped training on a different account. I did not have a useful long skill to set.

How many clients were you running at the same time? 2
Graphic setting of the client (low / medium / high): everything low
    - Anti-Aliasing: none
    - Shader Quality: lowest
    - Texture Quality: lowest
    - LOD Quality: lowest

    User Experience

Average FPS during the fight at the gate in 6E-578, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets): 30-60
Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets): 20-40
Memory usage of the client (if checked): n/a, sorry
Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 5-6
Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? no
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: unfortunately i had to turn settings down because in my experience these new changes have decreased performance with high settings. it was also a bit annoying that one of the guys in a QA ship kept running the QA ECM burst after we were told to fight it out.

  • Odyssey General Feedback Thread in EVE Technology and Research Center

The inventory system has become immensely bugged. Whenever an item is added or removed, and sometimes for no reason, items will start to overlap and become impossible to select properly. You have to fiddle with the window size or divider bar to make it go back to normal, for every item you want to use.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: It slowed down a few times and ground to a halt at other points but nothing that lasted for very long. Sometimes it spent a really long time loading all the ship models onscreen, but that doesn't affect the gameplay so I'm not too bothered.

  • Zebra Corp [ZEBR] Recruitment 0.0 Space PVP in EVE Corporations, Alliances and Organizations Center

I'm having the most fun I've had in Eve by far. I may be a relatively new player, but Zebras are welcoming even to relatively new players.. as long as you're here to PVP, obviously.

Thanks to the cacophony of alliance and coalition titans and jump bridges, there will rarely be a day when **** is not going down.

You are mistaken. If you are reported and we find you actively following around a target without a war to continue bumping a specific player, it will still (at some point) considered harassment, even if you divert your 'attention' a little while doing so. If you have a bone to pick with someone, declare a war and take the risk that your target may actually taste blood and fight back (or finds allies for that part).

On the surface of it, this seems reasonable, but what if said target is in an NPC corp?

  • How should we improve the inventory UI? in EVE Technology and Research Center

ISSUE: This is not an issue as such, it is more of a feature request.

When you open the ship's cargo hold in space, you get a nice option that says 'enable compact mode'. This is very useful and I use it whenever I am undocked.

However, if you try to put the window in a tab with a different window, such as combining it with your watch list or drone bay, this option disappears and the window turns back into the 'regular', cluttered inventory window. I am hoping this is possible to change, so that I can merge my cargo hold with other windows whilst still keeping it in 'compact mode'.

FIX: Allow compact mode even when UI windows are tabbed with other windows, such as bookmarks, watch list, and/or drone bay.
