  • CCP has given up on EVE online, Stop giving them your money in EVE Communication Center

Well....each his own experience. In my corp i play with 10 year old vets and players from a week old. We are absolutely having a blast with the game and havent seen even one member leave us or the game in 6 months time, just some breaks for RL.

So if its all so bad like many say, why does our group, consisting not just of new and old players, but also folks from 25 different nationalities, have so much fun?

Because you, my good man (or woman), have in fact found the answer many seek...a good group to hang out with. Who you fly with or even flying with anybody at all can do wonders for those "Eve is dying" moments we all honestly have irrespective of how well the game is doing.

Try the link to the FG loogs on the first post

I did, and it's not that useful. I appreciate the offer, but I'm not really into the idea of sifting through a mountain of broken convo logs that so far have hardly any concrete data mentioned. By the time I have a clear enough picture of what's going on, it'll be on TQ at that rate. There's still a number of recent changes mention here that are not even discussed in those logs.

A trickster. Perhaps a troll, even.

Depends on context, though. When a ganker got ganked, we used to call it being "Karma Loki'ed" meaning you've finally been had by karma essentually, but that originated from some of use watching too much of the Creatures' (group of YouTubers) older stuff from like 2012-2014.

Well I consumed one of these accelerators (on another character that I play) within the time required to finish it off before the deadline. How ever you read it.

But I noticed this, on the character sheet / skills tab, down in the Training Queue. On the line listing the skill in training it tells you how much time it will take to finish it (in this case 1d 1h 42m 45s). But at the bottom right it lists for the total time left as being greater (in this case 1d 13h 57m). Yes, only 1 skill in the queue.

Also, another skill that I plan on putting in when the present skill gets below 24 hours remaining. Previous to consuming the accelerator said that it would take 1d 16h plus to complete. Now after taking the accelerator, it says that it will take 3d 8h plus to complete. Same with several other skills that I plan to load in, they are all now nearly doubled in time to complete.

I noticed that a previously used accelerator completed the skill in less time than it said it would take and I did not think much of it until the use on this accelerator.

So CCP, it looks like your math is wrong in the displaying of the remaining time to complete the active skill.

That's not surprising. CCP's had hell getting the UI to properly and more consistently report the proper timing on skill queues when popping one of these +10 boosters in the past. The actual numbers that should be shown versus what tends to get shown has often been erroneous on multiple occasions. Maybe one day, they'll get it fixed for good. The fortunate news is that the problem's been so far confined to being simply a display bug and not actually indicative of your real training times and speeds.

  • Rogue swarm event in EVE Communication Center

Sadly it appears as if this event is over. And now I will take a break and let my accounts lapse again, probably for a few more years.

This was one of the best events CCP has ever had, as far as I am concerned. Something to do constantly and a great chance for PVP all the time. It should be a permanent feature but that would make WAY TOO MUCH SENSE.

So now that it's over and there's nothing to do as normal, no I will not be running more missions since I have done all of them hundreds of times.

I will now put my wallet back in my pocket and just say, thanks for the fun CCP. For once!

See ya'll again in a few years, maybe.

Another event is actually around the corner from what I hear, in case you're wondering.

  • To: The Developers (When are you going to implement Save+Load etc.?) in EVE Communication Center

Not sure what you mean by the Quick Bar. Do you mean the NeoCom? Because pretty much everything related to the UI that is saved locally can be backed up by making a copy of your settings folder. It's location, I believe, is in "AppData\Local\CCP\EVE" under your user older.

The main exception is the Overview settings, which are found as per the Overview YAML also normally located under your user folder, but in "Documents/Eve/Overview" (can't remember if it depends on install location, though I doubt it).

As for places, that's all handled server-side anyways. A locally saved back-up isn't really needed since something like hard-drive loss/failure, mistakenly resetting settings and caches, or reinstalling Eve on a different system and such doesn't affect that. So you can see why it's not really an issue, let alone a priority.

  • New loki stats on test server, mostly good, but something very bad. in EVE Communication Center

Someone told me that on SiSi they're all jumbled up visually, but no one, from CCP or otherwise, has stated whether their aesthetics are set in stone or simply a product of the changes to existing subs but will be fixed once it hits TQ. One guy said the Tengu's Fuel Catalyst now looks like the Nullifier, and that the reverse is true for new Nullifier. I know the visual aesthetic isn't as critical as there stats, but I have a bad feeling I'm gonna sell my Tengu. Shame, too, was looking forward to having an extra launcher, a utility high WITHOUT wasting said launcher, and some more energy warfare resists. I can't even image what the other T3C's will look like afterwards, most of the Loki subs already look like crap to be bluntly honest.

Bottom line, I hate it because I've grown pretty attached to my current Tengu's looks and I know it won't look anything like it next month. Back to my Stratios for combat exploration I go, I suppose.

  • CCP again makes fools of us! in EVE Communication Center

What they're trying to explain it as is that the date you see on the booster's info card makes no mention of how long you have to CONSUME one of them, just that the effects of any consumed before hand is guaranteed to last up till that point. You confusing the wording. Since boosters like the RD one do not give an immediate benefit, specifically that it's effects last for a time like you pointed out, the point of consumption and the end of it's duration are treated as two different events chronologically which accounts for the minimum possible offset...24 hours.

I know, play of words and maybe it should have specified that the date isn't how long you have until you cannot consume one rather than simply when any consumed therein wears off, but that's the gist of it.

If I heard it right, the primary offensive subs on the Tengu (Accelerated Ejection Bay and Magnetic Fusion Basin) get fitting bonuses to reduce fitting costs for weapons, cutting CPU and PG costs for them down to 75%. Many of the subs also add to PG.

Not quite what I asked. I was asking about how will T3C's look since they would visually loose one of the subsystems' making up one-fifth of the hull, not whether they will be compatible with SKINs.

I'll rephrase. If the engineering and electronics subs are being combined into so-called core subs, how will that be handled considering those sub groups account for two separate sections of the hulls? Will changing the core sub change those same two sections? Will one of them be permanent regardless of what subs are mounted? Or does CCP plan to rebuild their looks to only have four visual segments rather than five like they do now. Don't really care that much about making them work with SKINs. It would be nice, but that's not what I was concerned with.

  • Strategic Cruiser Focus Group Working Thread in EVE Technology and Research Center

Just dropping in on account of curiosity, but how will the T3C's be handled from a visual standpoint? Since we're going to a 4-category system from a 5-category one, will they look the same as they do now or will they be visually reworked given that would essentially mean part of the cruiser hulls would be literally missing?

I don't think that's what these events are for, so maybe that's why they feel underwhelming to you. Consider the following.

SKINs have no real mechanical value in game, so their value is always going to be weird as there's no stat or buff or ability they have to cement their usefulness in the same way ships or modules do. That's perhaps why their drop rate isn't tiered like that. It's not because CCP was lazy, just that it would make just as much sense to permit an equal chance for each SKIN to drop compared to any other SKIN, regardless as to whether a SKIN is for a sub-cap or a super. CCP's probably focusing more on encouraging you using the SKINs over just straight up selling them anyways.

As for the lack of challenge, CCP just doesn't want anyone to have any reason to avoid or fear them if that person is interested in running one. Hell, I'll bet you anything that if there was a way to let unarmed haulers run combat sites with any effect, CCP would code it, tie a cute bow on it, and throw it in at the next downtime. They want both Alphas and Omegas to be able to run them in decent time and without considerable risks to life and limb, though true enough that other players are a different matter all together.

I don't disagree that this site -- along with previous event sites -- is lacking in both difficulty and monetary worth to run, but I do disagree that such a reality is an issue as I believe they're not really meant to be challenging or lucrative.

I kind of wish the two sec status buffs actually had better synergy without feeling somewhat mutually exclusive. Sucks that the damage sucks, too, but that's to be expected I guess. Pretty gimmicky all the same. Even the EWAR bonuses are well short of the Arazu and Rapier.

My hat is off for the aesthetics, though. They did an amazing job on the visual designs. Odd and somewhat disappointing, though, that there's in fact no red and blue flashing lights to speak of on them that I saw. Now, if only there were...police sirens!
