@CCP Fozzie, I don't know if you as a developer have the function to see deleted posts, so I'll summarise my concerns:

    1) That LS and HS industrialists in particular, but small producers more generally, are taking a beating in the currently outlined design, even beyond the punishments they have taken from previous developments.

The design you (CCP) have outlined leaves the above players worse off in at least 3 ways:

Firstly, that smaller industrialists will have to spend more to get less, in terms of reward and return on investment. A NS/WH industrialist will have a *guaranteed* 2% advantage on ME and a 20% TE over a HS industrialist before bonuses (Using T1 rigs on a medium EC). At the same time, for that guaranteed disadvantage: people in LS and HS will be spending billions more than they do currently, and billions more in fuel costs, in multiple locations, instead of one unified, organised PoS.

Secondly, smaller industrialists will face a guaranteed loss in the event of a wardec, which, considering the fact that materials, structure modules and components will drop, will undoubtedly increase in frequency.

Finally, that with the ease of usage and transportation of materiel in Eve, any supposed competitive advantage the above players might face would be easily neutralised by NS and WHs producers with an unbeatable ME and TE advantage.
NS players will build things cheaper, faster and more easily, and there will be no recourse for HS players to beat them in the industrial sphere.

Anyway, It’s entirely possible that my account just ran out, so I may not be able to post this.

    2) that LS capital producers will be unable to compete (even by CCP's loose meaning of the word), with NS producers, even though CCP has specifically identified LS cap production as a priority. This advantage is not present in the dev-blog right now, so I can only assume it will be removed.

    3) that this system is completely out of touch with the way industry actually functions in Eve right now, and that there was little-to-no outreach by CCP to the Industrial community.

Anyway, It's been an experience, but I'm out.

No, my stuff is my own, to become a statistic on "ISK velocity".

"Eve might not be your game either"

I always admire this line of thought.

"You may be veterans, and you might be experienced, and you might be any number of other things, but because you don't like this idea, Eve is not your game."

Personally, I think that if you've been playing Eve for longer than few months, Eve probably is your game, and that perhaps it's not unreasonable to speak up in your area.

(Or perhaps I'm not stupid enough to not play the trend through to its conclusions: the more people you expel as "not fit for Eve", the less people you get to play with. In the end, you end up with one guy in his own little world, celebrating a game that's perfect for him, but no-one else).

I'm glad that the argument in favour of these new structures boils down to: "But do you really NEED it?"

That's exactly the kind of positive argument to make.

  • Dev blog: Building Dreams: Introducing Engineering Complexes in EVE Information Center

Ah well, I think that's a fitting commentary on how CCP thinks.

If you don't fit in, you're gone.

Anyway, could we get some CCP action in here? I'd like to see a deeper explanation of how they've structured these systems.

    Heh, I liked it.

Anyway, to get back on topic, could someone from the team explain what has changed between Crius and now to make the reasoning for the Thukker CAA invalid?

LS capital producers will still produce capitals in LS, and NS outposts will still remain with their ludicrous bonuses. What exactly has changed for CCP to remove the viability of building Caps in LS?

    Eve certainly isn't for everyone.

Certainly, but CCP does themselves no favours by only catering to one concept of how to play the game.

The tree of viability begins to look more like a telephone pole.

    Quote:

Reintroduce a natural path for capital combat to escalate.
Differentiate the power projection of Capitals and Sub-Capitals.

    Do you mean Super-capitals?

Anyway, what's the interesting gameplay in having differentiated jump ranges for S-Caps and Caps, as compared to a flat buff for both of them?

  • Dev blog: Building Dreams: Introducing Engineering Complexes in EVE Information Center

God forbid there be an actual problem in my design, it must be the fault of the users.

    Said no IT specialist ever.

  • EVEMon - The Open Source Character Planner (v3.0.2) in EVE Gameplay Center

Just noticed that LG Asklepians aren't registered as giving an attribute buff.

Thanks for all the work you put in :).

  • [November] Rorqual Astrahus citadel docking fix in EVE Technology and Research Center

Posting in a Goonswarm CTA thread.

I like it, and would prefer if all caps were locked out of Astrahuses, and couldn't tether on them at all.

Any chance of an update Jin?

(Cross posting to Reddit as well)

Great news, can I get a place?

    Edit: you mean September, right?

  • [September] Mining Barge and Exhumer tweaks in EVE Technology and Research Center

I'm guessing the increased tank for the Hulk and Covetor with a DCU in the low is negligible at best?

  • Hisec Ganking Roundtable Part 2 - Participant Request in Council of Stellar Management

I don't suppose we could get a list of who turns up to these?

  • Wormhole Town Hall Aug 13th 19:00 in EVE Gameplay Center

Is there a place for a LS WH user to sit in? I'll probably not say anything unless it pertains to how I use wormholes specifically, but we all know how unintended consequences can affect different areas of space.

The primary difference is how active people are outside of these meetings. They're not all there is to it.

That's a bit of a non-answer to either of my questions, Steve :P.

I'm not asking for a stunning amount of detail, but Aryth hasn't attended any of the introductory meetings, when all the other US CSMs have attended at least 2 of them. All the other US CSMs have attended at least five meetings, and Aryth has attended...one. There is a section pertaining to the removal of CSM delegates in the White Paper:

    White Paper wrote:
If the delegate is inactive for more than one release cycle, the council can collectively initiate the
process of removal due to inactivity.

Sugar and Jester talked a lot about the value of personal meetings, so I don't think that missing them is unimportant. I know someone in CSM10 had similar issues with attending meetings, but made up for it by working a lot with the internal CCP dev-tools. Is Aryth doing something similar?

It's wonderful that Jin'taan is doing a weekly summary, but it's hard to read what specific CSM members are doing as they're rarely named. I'd be very interested, Jin'taan, in reading the quarterly summary of what has/hasn't happened.

On a different topic, We've yet to see the "CSM's Vision" sectino of the White Paper:

    White Paper wrote:

    CSM’s vision
This section will be completed at the start of every CSM term and is determined by views of individual
    Council delegates.

Could we get that? Whilst I might disagree significantly with the philosphical section of the White Paper, it is apparently a guiding document, so It would be best that it were complete.

    Bad luck Ez and Whizz.

So glad that this was introduced. Now we get all the tax evasion in one place!

Viz Redeeming, does that mean that you can remotely activate a PLEX/Injector now too?

  • Testing for Multifitting/Bulkfitting in EVE Technology and Research Center

    Oh, how incredibly awesome :D.

I have noticed an unreproducible bug where, whilst fitting a ship using a pre-made fit, getting into a different ship causes the first ship to be fit, but for all modules to be offline.
