  • For those of you looking for a recent " "News" " article that suddenly got delet in EVE Gameplay Center

I am well aware that focusing a forum thread like this one is worse than herding cats, but can we please get someone to address the concerns of journalistic integrity? I have no problem with saying KILL is terrible - we are - but if you are going to also call us hypocrits, please address the arguments set forth that we actually did exactly what we said we would do and held to our beliefs. The condensed version of that whole argument is that we invaded (note, not evicted) R.E.P.O. because they hadn't been giving goodfights and now that they have agreed to give goodfights in the future, we agreed to a civil withdraw from their wh.

    Thread close in 3...2...

Thanks CCP Gargant for the reply. You make a good point - a POS fox would take time. I can respect that and I apologize if this thread looks like - or has turned in to - "Give us new POSes RIGHT NAOUGH!"

My concern is the part the Two Step quoted and that forms the title for this thread - that we're a group that's small so don't worry about us.

Unifex stated that what CCP did was spend effort and prototype what would make a good POS system. It would, however, only affect the group of people who manage POSes. Focusing that amount of time and effort on some small singular aspect of the game and delivering only that “is what will kill the business”. (page 37)

I'm hoping that this was just a misunderstanding of some sort - the person taking minutes summarized things in an unintentional abrasive way or something like that. I'd like to see Unifex post to say what he meant here. This thread is to show that we are not a small group and it is worth devoting time to this. If it takes a long time to fix, that's understandable - I hear the POS code is a real mess. But do not write it off as unimportant.

As one who has lived out of a POS in both Null and WHs, I hereby /sign that POSes need to be fixed.

  • ---CLOSED, WHO WANTS TO TAKE OVER?--- [WTS] Caldari COSMOS kits in EVE Marketplace

I bought two of these kits back in February (so about 10 months ago) and things went smoothly. With the re-work of mining ships the price of Michi's Excavation Augmentor (the implant that it the big prize at the end of the Caldari COSMOS missions) have gone up quite a bit (upwards of 1.5B on a buy order in Jita) so I've decided it's about time that I run these again (and, as an added bonus, get standings up on yet another toon.)

For those interested in the process, the standings gains, and the loot, check out this blog post I wrote back when I bought two of these kits and ran the Caldari COSMOS missions on two toons around 10 months ago.

If you still have any kits available at 640m, I'd like to buy one. I'm too cash poor at the moment to buy two, so I'll buy one and perhaps once I sell off the loot from it I'll buy another one or two :) Drop me an EVE-Mail at your earliest convenience.

    So here's the deal.

Firstly. I have confirmed that I stated incorrect information in my earlier forum post. I apologize for the mistake and want to clearly state that those of you arguing that the links all affected shield transporters were and are correct and I was wrong.
What happened was I accepted incorrect information at face value, information that I should have known was wrong and information that I should have personally confirmed before making any statements. Many of you know me well enough that this kind of mistake is not the kind of thing I want to be allowing myself to make, and frankly there's egg on my face.

The change was made as a defect response to a defect that contained incorrect information, and although I brought up some concerns when it was initially reported (as did the CSM, most notably Two Step), I did not dig deep enough and we let an imbalanced change hit TQ.

So what we're going to do is roll back this whole change as the first available patch opportunity and then go back to the drawing board to create a more complete plan to both make capital effects more understandable and ensure that the mechanics stay balanced and that we don't crush capital pilots.

We'll keep you updated, and once again I'm very sorry.

There we go, no hard feelings (well, OK, not too many too terribly hard feelings, at least.Blink) While certainly I'm less than pleased that this ninja nerf happened in the first place, I think you are in the process of a great plan to fix it Big smile Thanks for listening to us CCP (and hopefully this is a good reminder to ask for feedback *before* applying patches in the future.P)

Can anyone provide intelligent explanation/example of the impact this is going to have on triage groups? What will they no longer be able to rep that they could before?

The two main examples that come to mind are engagements where triage carriers are one of the main sources of reps (as in the invasion of J115405 aka RAGE this past weekend) and running Sleeper sites. In both cases the armor reps landing later can mean the ship you are repping dies before the reps hit it (never mind that the total amount of reps you dish out also decreases.) In the case of Sleeper sites, particularly when it comes to running sites in a wormhole other than your home hole (which applies to all who live in C5 and C6 WHs) you do not have the option to simply bring an extra carrier (1st because of mass limits and 2nd because of the extra sleepers that spawn when you bring in another carrier.)

I suspect this also has many implications for large-scale cap fights in low and especially null, but I have no real experience with those engagements so someone else will have to post about that.

Again, as others have been stressing, the loss of total amount repped is certainly unpleasant but in some situations the even worse problem is that your reps might not land in time to save someone's ship.

EDIT: I was posting this while CCP Fozzie was posting his reply, so yeah, sorry this is a few posts after that P

  • EVE Online: Retribution 1.0 Feedback in EVE Information Center

There is a thread going in the Test Server Feedback section about the stealth nerf to capital remote armor reps and I just want to bring up that discussion here. The tl;dr from there is that gang boosts, rigs, implants, and all other things that don't specifically mention capital sized assistance modules no longer give any benefit to capital sized assistance modules. Here's a link to my post quoting CCP Fozzie's post.

I generally like this patch and think you've done a lot of great things CCP, but this stealth nerf has many people - myself included - quite upset. These kinds of stealth nerfs are something CCP has repeatedly declared that they are trying to avoid (i.e. CCP is trying to keep players informed of upcoming changes) and this type of stealth nerf is unacceptable.

UPDATE: CCP Fozzie has admitted that some things got borked here and this ninja nerf is getting rolled back. Here's my post quoting his reply.

So yeah, thanks for listening to us CCP Big smile

What you are describing is a side effect of the change:
Removed non-capital skill requirements from capital remote assistance modules. (Shield Emission Systems, Energy Emission Systems, Remote Hull Repair Systems and Remote Armor Repair Systems)

We are currently in the process of refactoring the way skills and effects apply to capital modules.

In this case the gang links had previously been affecting Capital Remote Armor Repair Systems but not Capital Shield Transporters. This change brought the armor reps in line with the shield variants.

We may re-evaluate this going forward, either through changes to the gang boost modules or possibly to the triage mod, but we can't guarantee anything at this point.

I'm trying to give you guys the benefit of the doubt here - I honestly don't think you meant to break things so badly (which, as others have brought up, has implications that you are not as connected with your player base as you should be, but that's another matter.) Rather than joining the flame train, I'd like to see some more CCP response here. Sneaking in a major nerf and then planning on maybe doing a buff to balance it out at some point if you feel like it is not acceptable. Would you mind sharing more details on these proposed buffs?

In the meantime, I also /sign that these changes should be rolled back. If, at some future date, there will be buffs to balance out the nerfs, fine, implement the nerf then with plenty of warning.

As an added personal appeal, please fix this soon so that I don't have to endure more nerd rage on coms. Please and thank you :)

  • WTB Sabres (Regular Shipments) in EVE Marketplace

Thank you to Arch Baby and ACL for their offer to get things going :) I've forwarded your mail on to our logistics division and I'll try to get in touch in the next few days to let you know what we decide. Please keep the posts and/or mails coming :)

  • WTB Sabres (Regular Shipments) in EVE Marketplace

    Still looking for offers/bids.

  • WTB Sabres (Regular Shipments) in EVE Marketplace

My corp has a tendency to go through Sabres quickly thanks to Big Damn Hero (TM) Sabre pilots. I'm looking for bids on what sort of deal we could get on Sabre hulls at 3 buying levels - 1 per week, 4 per week, and 8 per week. Pickup would preferably be near Jita or Amarr. EVE-Mail me or post in this thread with your bids and please include prices for all 3 buying levels (or if the price would be the same no matter what buying level then say that.)

  • ---CLOSED, WHO WANTS TO TAKE OVER?--- [WTS] Caldari COSMOS kits in EVE Marketplace

Just a quick update on the standings gains (and another +1 vote of confidence for Takashi Ishikawa and company!)

I have now done the Caldari COSMOS missions on two characters, Qanthelas and Qaldramas, both times using a kit purchased through Takashi Ishikawa's associates. It works great! You need to get your Caldari State standing up to around 1.5 before you start to be sure you'll have access to the higher level agents when you need them but this can be done fairly easily with the level 1 data center agents and some circle agents.

I've written up a blog post that includes the faction gains I got both times, comparing them - I didn't get exactly the same gains both times, apparently this is part of the game mechanic that CCP is fairly hush-hush about for reasons I don't fully understand.

Click here for the blog post.

Thanks again to Takashi and company for helping me check another thing off my EVE 'To Do' list :)

  • EVE IPH Industry Calculator Version 3.3 - Now with Live Market data! in EVE Gameplay Center

First off, thank you so much for this tool! I, too, have been frustrated to try to find a way to sort through which of the decent items to manufacture will actually be likely to sell. Sure SVR has its limits, but I find it to be a helpful reference to consider if the supposed massive isk/hour is worth the risk of the price changing quite a bit before I get the darned thing sold. I have not done manufacturing in a looong time because I lost interest in all the data I had to pour over, but this tool looks fun and it is encouraging me to give it another try sometime (on an alt Blink)

As a hobbyist bug squasher I wanted to bring a few things to your attention. I want to add a small disclaimer that for now I have only tried this on one computer, a slower beast running Windows XP, so some of the issues might be just because of my computer.

    1) Tooltips, Only on Some Things? - On the manufacturing list tab, I can mouseover things like the various probability multipliers (to get a list of the names of the various items for each race and the stats for that item) or Profit %, SVR, and SVR*IPH for a brief description of what that means. However, many items do not seem to have a mouseover tool tip, such as IPH and Profit under Sort By and any of the 4 options under Price Comparison. I'm guessing that you have just implemented tooltips for items that you thought needed some sort of explanation. Are these other tooltips there and just not showing up for me? Perhaps this is more of a 'feature request' than a 'bug' but since there is no manual (that I know of) for EVEIPH, more tool tips would be appreciated Big smile.

    2) Faction POSes, Same Fuel Cost - when clicking the "Edit POS" button in the Manufacturing List tab, I see where you can set various types of POSes but I noticed that when changing from a Caldari Small Tower to a Guristas Small Tower the fuel costs don't change. My understanding is that CCP finally settled on making the faction towers use less fuel - 10% less for 'tier 1' towers and 20% less for 'tier 2' towers. To be fair, I have not actually messed with faction towers since the fuel block switch over so maybe CCP again changed their minds on that one, but if that is the case, it looks like the fuel block consumption numbers for faction towers are incorrect.

    3) Build Block Price Doesn't Vary - When I select Standard Towers and check the 4 races, I see that the "Buy" costs vary for Fuel Blocks but the "Build" costs seems to stay the same (at the moment it is 12748.60.) With no other costs considered except the raw materials, using the Blueprint tab I figure these are the current prices per block assuming ME 100: Amarr 12192.20, Caldari 12748.60, Gallente 12750.25, Minmatar 13970.80. When I check the Update Prices tab for ice products, sure enough, the different isotopes have different prices. This seems to suggest that there is an issue with how the "Set POS Settings" thing calculates Build costs for Fuel Blocks. Apparently it is only using the Caldari isotope (Nitrogen) for all the fuel blocks? Also, a side question - what ME is this basing the Build Price off of? Changing the "ME and PE for Unowned BPs doesn't seem to change the Build Price from 12748.60. Is it using perfect ME?

    4) Meta 2-4 Items Showing with T1 and T2 Only Checked - On the Manufacturing List tab, when I check Modules and Tech 1 and Tech 2 (but no other items) I end up with things like Dual Modal Giga Pulse Laser I and Capital Coaxial Regenerative Projector I in my lists. Similarly, items like Gaze Survey Probe 1 and Discovery Survey Probe I show up with Tech 1, Tech 2, and Ammo/Charges checked. So far as I know, the BPOs for these items are not offered and they are not produced through invention. I honestly don't know much about where the blueprints for these items come from (because they have info in the Blueprints tab, so there must be a blueprint somehow) but I'd rather not have them cluttering up my search if they aren't something I can reasonably lay hands on. If I'm just derping here and the BPOs are available or BPCs for these are made through invention, just tell me, but if not, would you mind perhaps making a different sort of checkbox for these (like with Storyline and Faction) since they are not truly "T1" as they are listed as (in the sense that I can't just buy a BPO for them)?
