  • Null Sec PI setup in EVE Gameplay Center

You want to minimise hauling as much as possible. Find a star system with good planets for extraction of the 3 metals and non-CS crystals. Extract those and turn them into the p1 on the extraction world, then use a 5th planet to turn the whole lot into robotics.

  • Holy boredom. in EVE Communication Center

Mining is a lot more interactive when you have 4+ characters on grid, including compression and tractor beams to pull cans.

Once you're into a good Corp your focus is less on individual'roids and more on how fast your Corp can sycle anoms.

Still the difference in cost, especially if you are running a shield heavy fit could be the difference if all you need to do is squeeze a tiny bit extra out of it.

They cost the same from LP Stores - LP and ISK cost.

You don't need the Ore reprocessing skills to 5 - only to 4 for Tech 2 crystals.

Also - "buyed"?! Bought. Or possibly Purchased.

  • 'Gnome' Shield upgrades is a pointless implant? in EVE Communication Center

There are a large number of implants that are objectively useless. SU- is just one of them.

Various people will cite the nominal Jita cost, but those prices are rarely reliable because the implants in question are rarely if ever obtained from the source (LP stores at 250,000 LP + 250,000,000 ISK for the SU-603).

They obviously don't sell for anything like that price, so the few that ever appear are (I presume) either drops or mission rewards from somewhere.

In terms of their return on investment from LP & ISK, the SU-600 series just aren't worth it for mission runners to obtain.

If they did become worth using, the price would rapidly approach parity with the other, actually useful and heavily traded implant sets on an ISK/LP level.

I would say that CCP should either buff these implants substantially or move them to another implant slot where they would provide a valid trade off.

If (to take a thought experiment) CCP were to double the effectiveness of the SU-600 series in that slot, then the equation would be simple; any ship with over half its grid dedicated to shield modules would benefit more from the hypothetical 6th tier SU-612 than from an EG-606.

On the other hand moving it unchanged to another slot would put it in direct competition with different stat bonuses. However, putting two fitting implants in different slots would mean that the balance of available power grid would change, and certain fits that are currently just out of reach will become possible.

  • What is the first thing you do when first time fitting your ship? in EVE Communication Center

TBH, the first thing I do is launch Pyfa.

As for the rest, I think about what I want the ship to do... Actually, I think about that *before* selecting the ship to fulfill the role.

Then I decide on what prop mod to fit (usually dictated by fleet, gang or purpose).

After that I look at available grid & CPU, and start to fit guns to match the hull bonuses.

Then I look at tank. Shortly after that I run out of either grid or CPU and then I'm into the long fiddly part of ship fitting, which is working out what you can swap out while retaining the greatest benefit.

Herewith my CCU-IV Extraction to P1 setup, P1-P3 factories look like this at CCU-V.

How are you getting the p0 to the factories in the first pic? Transferring to the launchpads?

I don't even get what the second picture is accomplishing are you importing the p1?

You can route via a chain of links; you don't have to have a single link from the ECU to the storage or factory, as long as there's a valid path though your setup the route will just use multiple links without stopping (as long as no link is overloaded).

Most people extract R0 and process to P1 on the same planet, then lift it off and take it somewhere else to further processing. There is a limited number of P2 that can be built on a single world.

  • Highwall Mining Implants in EVE Gameplay Center

This best Implants to improve effective yield on a Rorqual are NN-6 (ship velocity) and EM-7 (ship agility), to decrease the time it takes to move from one 'roid to another and thereby increase the time you spend with the Industrial Core bonuses active.

You *can* route things directly from one factory to another, but in my experience the PI system is very buggy and this leads to lost cycles, missing requirements and waste.

Route to and from a storage buffer, always. Even if the storage is immediately taken into the input hoppers, it's still better to have and use a store. A lot of people use the Command Centre storage as the buffer in cases where they are expecting the buffer to always sit at zero.

if theyre linked will they spill over if one fills or does it just throwout everything that goes past the full mark and i have it set to output to one but its full. will it output to the next available area with space like launchpad or command center or vice versa if i use the uh.. transfer to fill the input storage silo then my launch pad. when my silo runs out will i need to transfer or can it suck from the launchpad? or do i just make two input nodes from both and route both the silo and launchpad into the same factories. would that divert the flow between them or would i just be wasting resources from one of them?

If there's no available space at the routed destination, then the additional resources are lost.

That's why it's not safe to route directly.

I don't understand the rest of your comment, please clarify.

There aren't any good planets in HighSec, and even the mediocre ones will have high tax rates.

  • newer Upwell technology replacments for Outposts in EVE Gameplay Center

The new structures have sizes like coffee.

Personally I hope that eventually CCP bring some of the other in-space hardware into line with Citadels - like POCOs, for example.

  • Planetary interaction - what does white bars means exactly in EVE Gameplay Center

So far as I've been able to tell, the white bars represent the total amount of resources available on that planet.

What it doesn't tell you is how concentrated those resources are. It's frequently the case that a much smaller bar can have far more intense hotspots.

  • [December] Excavator Mining Drone yield rebalance in EVE Technology and Research Center

So many people failing at economics in this thread.

Please try to understand that Ore & Mineral prices are not static, and look at what's already happening to the market on those since the announced changes to the drone mining for the Rorqual.

A 32% yield reduction is definitely not the same as a 32% income reduction.

  • [December] Excavator Mining Drone yield rebalance in EVE Technology and Research Center

So the cost of mining drones will fall, the volume of ore mined by Rorqual will decrease, but the slide in Mineral prices will be arrested, so profits should stabilize at roughly the same.

Nice boost for the lower end Miners still in Exhumers and Barges, as proportionally their mining will be a larger part of a Mining Fleet.

The only thing I would have liked to see would have been for CCP to implement a severe nerf to mining drones, but make boosts apply to them, in order to get rid of the antisocial Rorqual no boost fleets that don't help lower SP players.

  • [New Structures] Condensed thread in EVE Technology and Research Center

  • Clone States UI Changes in EVE Technology and Research Center

Having the training queue - a VERTICAL list - in a HORIZONTAL box at the bottom of the pane is a silly thing to do. The queue should be a vertical list (as it currently is on TQ) to maximise the visibility of the queue. The text is also too big and takes up too much room. Minimise the space used, I want the maximum amount of information density in the pane.

Overall the view is too much bling and not enough practical functionality.

Also, it's too easy to accidentally pause training - needs the button to change to a "CONFIRM" one (like when giving Plex time to other accounts).
