Questions regarding the Drone regions

EDIT: Changed topic name for a bump. I know CCP is busy dealing with Goon tears but how about we move on to something more productive?

I watched most of the Eve TV stream and did not see anything. Was anything even said about drones, drone lands, and other things concerning screwing people over that make a living in EVE with all things drones?

There are alot of rumors flying around and I cant find anything to substantiate any of it.

Are there plans to: remove alloys and give 100% bounties? Rerandomize security statuses in drone regions? Or any other crazy game breaking changes to my way of life in Eve?

Any also, what is a rough timeline on when these things might happen. I dont need exact dates but some rumors say in this april patch which I doubt, others the Inferno expansion. People need some sort of stability to make decisions for the near future otherwise you are being like Obama and the US goverment and hindering investment due to not knowing what is going to happen.

So, We still sit with the same limited information that we had for a while now. Will any Dev please comment on who the drone lands changes is assigned to or who is working on them? Because the only information I have been able to gather is

Yes, drones will get bounties (soundwave interview
This will happen in April patch (Fanfest Keynote


The things we are still missing are

Will drones have the same bounty structure as other factions
What loot drops will drones now have
Will sentient drones be buffed with new faction gear that is actually worth something
Will there be drone officers
Will there be drone haulers
Will there be a re-randomization of security status in drone lands
Will there be a change in the number of horde sites per system by security status
Will this really happen in April patch? (because you all don't seem to have a clue as to what you are going to do yet....
Does anyone at CCP realize the scope of the change you are making before you just change to bounties and ignore all of the above
Will you continue with your stance of drone regions should be the worst place in null sec and nerf us into the ground again? (We will find a way to profit with whatever you decide to change

I personally don't expect to see drone drop changes to be in Inferno, or at least the first part.

They are trying to remove isk, and switching all the drones over to isk would add a ton of it. I have no doubt it will happen at some point, but who knows when.

It'll be a stealth change, and its a change, not a nerf. Drones regions, by the looks of it, are now going to be the same as all the other regions. If anything it's probably a buff to the area, and its certainly a much needed buff for miners.

There's a reason CCP don't announce this kind of stuff ahead of time.

Also, lol@comparing CCP to Obama.

Someone asked about the rumor of drone npc's getting bounties and the CCP guy sounded like he was confirming it was happening, while not actually saying yes. The way he responded he repeated it several times in a 'sly' manner and i got the impression he wasn't allowed to say, but it is indeed coming

Well I know that it is probably coming, but there are other aspects that were not answered even in that interview with Soundwave. That was simply becasue the guy asking the questions didnt ask enough.

1. Ok, so if there are bounties what kind of items do the drones drop?
2. New Faction loot? (making our faction spawns worth more than 10k isk.total for the enitre spawn)
3. Security status randomization for drone regions? (This one ticks me off because I just got into a new .9+ system that could become a .3 system over night after all of our investments into the system)
4. The leak of the SiSi patch notes had the drone bounties on them and they were far less in bounty than compared to other regions. "putting bounties on them will be the same across the board". it wont be if you still screw drone regions over by giving less bounties.
5. Officer drops? Goes along with Faction loot but drones right now get crap tech 1 drone stuff that isnt worth sqat. Is this going to be fixed?


There are plenty more instances of things that CCP needs to think about before arbitrarily making this change to drone regions. I know they have probably discussed and possibly have ideas but some informaiton would help.

Only way it would be stealth when they tell people now, is if they didn't put it in the patch notes of the patch it goes in with.

We know it's there now. If it happen in Inferno 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 doesn't make it stealth.

Once they know for sure which part of Inferno, I'm pretty sure they'll tell people in advance.

If they weren't planning on that, they would have never blurped it out now.

maybe drone regions will drop bpcs for special drones, augmented fighter drones or something

If you watched the EVE keynote on Saturday, one of the slides is what is happening in the "Escalation", which is the pre-patch to Crucible on April 24th. On that slide it says something to the effect of "drone region iteration" (also incursions will be iterated on that date).

So it will probably happen in the pre-expansion as it's mostly just database record changes (changing the drop tables and adding bounties to the rats).

i watched all the keynotes and I dont remember seeing that.

Hopefully in the morning we can get some CCP comment on this if that is the case though.

I am sure there are still things that I missed here but just getting these questions answered would be a great help, or at least know there is a living breathing Dev working on this and not just someone throwing code in to change to bounties and screw everything else.

So CCP finally posted the drone changes for inferno and in them is the following.

"Bountiful Drone Rewards

Alloys have been removed from the rogue drones, and bounties have been added to them to bring them in line with other faction mobs. Players no longer have to gather a cargo hold full of alloys to make rogue drone hunting lucrative."

Yet no Dev is willing to come out and mention any of the above issues with these changes. What the hell CCP, are you just going to ignore the fact that giving drone regions straight bounties and ignore the rest is a horible idea? Or do you already have the answers to these questions you just choose to say SCREW YOU drone regions again and give us another stealth nerf?

The last time the only information you gave us was "We are buffing all Sanctums isk output to bring them in line with all of the others except one." Then Patch day comes and oh look Hordes have been nerfed all to hell. Give us some information already and stop screwing with the drone regions without thinking things through first.
