Was there any mention of the racial battlecruisers at fanfest? I'm unable to find any mention of it but maybe just not looking hard enough?

It was reiterated in Ytterbium's ship balancing session. The Racial Destroyer skill split was up there as well.

They seem committed as ever to do this, in spite outcry.

They also said (AGAIN) that "if you could fly it yesterday you can fly it today" so that you won;t magically lose the ability to fly any command ships or dictors

This may or may not be the reason I am training Destroyers V on my main, and Battlecruisers V on my alt Blink

Running an MMO 100% based on the tantrum's thrown by Eve's equivalent of a 3 year old who has been told he will not be getting his sweets is not an efficient model in any universe.
This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

Training BC V atm, 9 days still to go.

Destroyer at lvl 1 and if we need other race cruiser skills at 3 then I still have some way to go. Although if it does not come in before 22nd May then I will complete it in time.

Yep you are right, they should just totally stop trying to connect to the customers and get their feedback.

I get that there is no possible way to make everyone happy, particularly with this crowd, but why put the stuff out there and get feedback if you aren't going to pay attention to it?

I guess it is because most feedback has been positive.

It is a good change. It will make it easier for noobs and improve ship specialization and diversity. Most people complaining just do it by habit because they may need to rethink what they do and change their skill planning.

BTW, anyone knows when it is going live?
Is it April 24 for Escalation to Inferno or May 22 for Inferno?

People not reading what CCP says and working themselves into a lather over what they dreamed up to fill in the gap is not an “outcry”. So yes, in spite of this failure on some players' part, CCP is going ahead, because that failure is of zero significance for the decision to go forward.

Mainly that people can't read and instead decide that there is a problem without even trying to figure out if there is one or not.

Oh, I suppose it might be a problem that some people get more expensive clones, but I can't remember seeing anyone actually complain about it…

It has some sort of psychological effect upon you when you think people listen/read you -in fact don't that much- you're more inclined to accept what you didn't wanted to.
And is still an awesome free tool to validate projects or verify their negative sides, you never clearly know what you're answering exactly: simple question: simple answer

I don't think its a good change, but its not really a big deal ether. I think it sucks for newer players who will have to train 4x the SP I did to use all the Battlecruisers. For old players it doesn't matter, since we will get them all at level 5 for free anyway.

So it slows down new players if they want to fly more than one race, and does nothing to anyone else. I don't really see any winners here.

Destroyers are even worse. If they are going to change it to racial they should at least add another Destroyer for each race. Maybe have one with close range bonuses, and one with sniping bonuses. Or even a missile destroyer for the Caldari.

it does however add some granularity. it always felt weird that BCs and dessies were the only T1 racial ships that didn't directly require racial skills to fly.

The one failing in reading comprehension is you.

People have complained about expensive clones, and there are plenty of people that think this is a bad change that causes unnecessary turmoil for little or no benefit.

I am fully aware of the "can fly today what you could fly yesterday" policy and have partaken of those conversations. I am not going off half-cocked without reading the threads. If you want to ignorantly paint me with that brush, that's your problem. Not mine.

This is a lot of effort to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Inflating skill points of vets while increasing newbies skill training times to crosstrain and get to the pirate hulls.

Tiercide and ship rebalancing are good goals, this doesn't do it.

That said, I probably won't unsub over it. It just seems foolish, disruptive and unnecessary.
