What about mattentaart?

Which upon introduction to a section of my gaming community, earned the name Cakeypie and much praise due to it being both a cake AND a pie.

lol pie you need 2 equivalent priced types. So 21 dollar french silk v. 21 dollar birthday type cake. Any pie will beat out any cake in that situation any day of the week.

What kind of cake and what kind of pie are we talking about?

If it is my great aunt's pecan pie, made from caramelized butter, sugar and corn syrup, with the gram cracker crust with cinnamon, served with a small bit of ice cream with her yam sauce, made from pureed yams, sugar, bourbon and mace, then damn I might have to go for the pie.

On the other hand, if the cake is one of those layer cakes, with the slight lemony taste, as light as air with the raspberry goop and marzipan, then it might be the cake.

If it is just some bull crap from the store, cake or pie, screw it, gimmie a beer.

Cheesecake is the biggest lie of all. It's a pie, and no denying it. Who are they trying to fool?

You are a cake noob. All cakes have a crust. It may not always be visible, because of a coating or because it got cut off, but it comes with the baking process. A good cheesecake is one where you can cut off its crust and its cream still stands. Not everyone does this or is capable of doing it right and so the cheesecake is at risk of becoming a mere pie. If you really love cakes then fight for the right of the cheesecake to be a cake. Do not let incompetent housewives ruin what is a good cake and tricky to make!

Not allowed. You'd better pick a side before you get caught in a cake-pie crossfire. Smile
