installer probs

im trying to install eve on my laptop. but when i try to download the install i keep getting a error message {an unknown error has occured whille downloanding installer payload} can someone help me

Is there some firewall blocking the installer/downloader? Is the installer's folder write protected or accessible? If you're unsure about the later question, right click the installer/downloader and pick "run as administrator" and see if that fixes your issue.

no that didnt work ive turned my firewlall off tryed to run as admin and same thing the installer starts the the error message pops up

I have installed eve on quite a few computers over the years. Yesterday I finished setting up my newest computer and so thought I would dlownload Eve overnight.

Got the installer and fired it up. Same issue. An unknown error has occurred downloading the installer payload.

So I made the installer run as admin. No change. Now keep in mind, being a new computer I have been installing stuff all day for other sources using various people's installers.

So after maybe 15 minutes of this. I found the solution. Go to the account section and cancel sub. Problem solved. Its been a fun few years, but I think I'm done. Maybe I'll try the installer again in a couple of years.

Try putting the installer into an empty folder on your desktop and run it from there.

ok so putting the installer in a new folder didnt work. ive tryed everything i can think of to get this damn install to work its nice to know i paid for a month of game time and cant even use it ccp rocks

yes ive downloaded both the payload files and the exe but when i run the exe same message [an unknown error has occured while downloading installer payload] i dont understand why it wont work i run windows 7 and my other games work just fine.

checking in with the same issue. fresh install of win7 pro 64bit sp1 running on a mac in bootcamp. bootcamp v 3.3. running a couple more updates and will check back.

I'm quite glad I'm not the onlying suffering from this problem, but at the same time annoyed at the fact I have jsut got my laptop back from the shop and have 7 days left -_-

Well , this problem is not only on windows 7 .. i get the same damnn issue on a fresh instaled xp sp3 and i cannot instal eve online .

I am such a happy customer ... makes me wanna cry ..

Same problem windows 7 laptop brand new,this is insanity,I am losing game time. For the love of god either fix this **** soon or revert to the old installer until you fix it. People losing game time when we pay 15 bucks for it every month is NOT OK. I don't care how shiny and new the new patch system looks.

Yet another one with this issue come on Ccp you can do it :d

Can't help but thinking new installer should have been sorted before this imagine how many people their missing during these new times how many new players the new rookie ships will bring in cant even download the clients and yes Ccp I have tried the back up installer I feel some Good old please don't leave us goodies are in order I mean I need to travel to the gfs house to update skills and train fares add up

One of my friends has been bugging me to resub, and tonight I finally decided to give in. Renewed my subscription, downloaded the installer, and lo and behold, it doesn't work.

When I use the online installer, I get the message "An unknown error has occured whille downloanding installer payload." and am directed to the offline installer.

Downloaded the offline installer and its payloads, and I am now greeted with "Archive extraction failed: 3." and am again pointed to the offline installer.

Glad I wasted $15 on nothing, this really makes me want to play again. My life in ruins.

This should be priority one Ccp no point making the game better if no one can play

Hey guys, I had the same problem and have been looking at this particular forum post for answers, but jsut tried the installer again and it worked soo jsut icnase you havnt foudn this out yet, it may be fixed don't know yet for everyone but my installer is working now
