It is not on PC, so until it is ported to PC my official stance on DUST 514 will remain "meh".

God you faceless alts love making yoursevles troll targets don't you but to answer OPs question yes want DUSTCool

Well i'm not a faceless alt, and I'm of the same opinion, DUST isn't (currently) being released on PC therefore my thoughts on it as far as playing it are "meh" even before you take into account the (small) scale of the fights, personally I'll be playing Planetside 2 assuming of course that the commitments made in light of SOE's recent "Incarna moment" (given that I live in the UK) are actually followed up on.

The only DUST issue of any concern to me right now remains the same concern I've had since they first announced the idea, namely the Eve-DUST link, and the impact Dust is going to have on Eve gameplay.

read post above(if troll) and your cocerned about dust/eve link watch both keynotes they give some insight on what CCP plans for the link.

To be honest, it seemed a bit "clunky" for a console FPS. Of course it's beta.

Secondly, I'm not convinced that the console segment will buy into the whole "wow, there a real life players behind these [insert systems]? What, I'm on a single shard with PC MMORPG players? Wauw! I'll have to go to fanfest!" concept - when buying a console FPS.

I do applaud the experiment tho, and think it's brave ( or judging by the state of the CCP hivemind in 2011 maybe just cocky and "we can do no wrong" motivated ) that CCP is trying it. I hope it works out.

I don't have a PS3 tho and will not play unless someone throws one at me.

I wonder tho, will CCP have to throw a new version out each console cycle? Backwards compatability isn't high on Sony or Microsofts list these days. And will people buy what is in essence the same game, with upgraded graphics, again, when they already own a copy? Won't they feel entitled to not having to pay for it again?

yes the game will update to newer consoles just like eve retires older video cards.

So PC, PS4 and Next Box in the future possible.

Shudders at the thought that Dust 514 could be 50Gigs one day.

look forward to it but honestly not gonna buy a PS3 just for dust sadly....

Now the fact that a dev said "ps3 dust will support keyboard and mouse... now i wonder why we did that"....
i'm very hopeful thats a hint that a PC port will be coming...

I mean reasoning for not being on XBOX is MS doesn't do F2P games...

So that reasoning would not hold on PC, so why not a PC version CCP is a PC company Carbon is a PC platform... SO I'm hopeful

I wonder is it possible to roll a dust toon which you can use purely to call orbital strikes on your own team's location.

It looked like the people at fanfest were enjoying it.. i really wanna see some quality youtube vids of gameplay and see what my buddies who hopfully get the beta say...

But so far it looks like imma have to buy myself a ps3...
And a new keyboard/mouse so i can pwn all you console controller noobs

Scene releases are in mp4 standard now and dont play on my freemcboot ps2 =( So this will be a double win!

I don't own a PS3, but if reviews are positive when Dust comes out I may change that. It looks pretty cool.

The thing I am most excited about it is I have lots of friends and family who enjoy a good shooter, but find EVE too complicated and slow for their tastes. Dust may help get them to play in the same pool as me, even if they stick to the shallow end. So I know personally I will be evangelizing this game quite a bit... particularly if they own a PS3 already (F2P is a easy sell).

As for it eventually being on the PC... I doubt it will be in the near future. Given Sonys involvement there is likely at least a one, if not two exclusivity contract in place. With all the marketing in place for this game Sony stands to make or lose a fair size of change in Dust.

Honestly I think Sony is interested in CCP mostly because they want a piece of that yummy MMO PIE, but every attempt they make at fighting wow usually fails spectacularly. So why not bet on a new horse that going to be racing against WoW/SwTOR? Makes sense to me.

Even still, I really hope DUST does very well and is a good game. If its a solid game and does well, we can hope to see similar multi-faced gaming experiences in the future. If it flops, it may be a while before we see true innovation like this attempted by any large studio. So for the future of gaming in general, I'm onboard the dust train.

As long as there's no PC version it doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. If they do a PC port it better be fast or it's not going to survive...

I appreciate the depth and complexity that eve offers. With it comes a different class of customer. But I am often amazed by just how dumb many of you are.

It's a fracking business!

PS3 exclusivity at release was a business move you idiots!

The more they make from this console release the better as there is more money for the company to perhaps spend to make eve a better game!

Grow up!

This...unless from day 1 my compatriots and I can lay some hurt on to Dust and sell them stuff that I make.

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

The PS4 WILL play bluray - and it's a downloaded game anyway, I don't think backwards compatibility is going to be a problem.

Anyway ps3 only has exclusivity contract for a year, i bet ccp will be releasing a pc version after that point.

The funny thing is unless people post tears or something, you'll just get to see your ship shooting at a planet. Unless they'll give you a video or something showing your bombardment hitting stuff, it's like shooting a POS.

I'm going to plug the PS3 into the desktop's monitor, plug in the USB mouse and keyboard, fit my dude like a Drake, and tank the entire opposing team.

Im thinking the PS3 exclusive-ness is due to Microsoft not playing ball on how RMTs work. Also, they dont like devs giving out free stuff. Which is why you dont see TF2 updated on console. Microsoft wants people to use points to buy hats or keys, (or in CCPs case) expansion packs. I believe Sony has much more relaxed rules regarding this.
