Was the rumor that they couldn't go with XBox because Microsoft wouldn't allow RMT transactions outside of using Microsoft points ever substantiated?

I actually prefer Sony's system (never been a fan of the morons on XBox live... imagine if you could HEAR the idiot pubbies in Jita local... christ) than Microsoft's, but I can see why people would be concerned.

It was kinda creepy. Sorry to say....especially the smile at the end. It's felt like a incoming goon scam. I didn't even know goons had infiltrated Sony.

The guy from Sony looked like he was made of plastic, possibly a robot, certainly evil. Immediately after that video I had engage mind bleach.

I've worked for SCEE, SMI and a Sony developer and most of the senior figures are like that, trust is not a word I'd use when describing them

This is pretty much right on without the cat.

It was the typical corporate newspeak dripping with faux sincerity complete with the sincere smile exuding insincerity at the end. The kind of corporate shtick that makes you shudder.

The best way to describe that smile using an example is Ed Dillinger in the original Tron. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a youtube to show you.

I assume we're talking about the video, rather than the presentation so:
It's a massive multinational company, the people on the vids who can't be arsed to come to the show because they quite frankly have something better to do, they have no emotional ties to you, you're a business contract that they'll sign if it works in favor of the company they're responsible for. There are exceptions of course, but this is not something that only applies to Sony but rather to anything very large and centralised away from the individual.

Now compare his video to the guy who actually came to the show and gave a presentation, someone who's closer to the product and the costumers, the guy who sees the effect his products have on other human beings.

Don't buy into it;). Sony are one of those companies, while they're businesses within businesses and the left hand isn't even aware it has a right one, let alone what its doing, you should never ever trust anyone in a senior position.

Oddly enough I've also met and indirectly worked with the new CCP head marketing guy. I think he left NCsoft in 2009 for the same reasons I did, but different reasons to what he stated ;). Decent guy though and can rarely say that about anyone who works in sales or marketing.
