Fanfest: Art Panel

Short one this and I missed the start. Key things were:


  • Different damage locations for missiles on ships.
  • New explosions based on damage type of missiles. Blue em explosions! Yellow/orange explosive
  • Trails on missiles
  • Grouped missiles look like seperate missiles, just fired at once
  • Explosions seem to be randomised, rather than the same each time
  • Localised damage sites on large ships (could be others) with textures.
  • Demonstrated a broken in half titan with explosive/fire effects

  • Ship Redesigns
  • Showed some new: atron, imicis, navitas, steath bombers, tristran,

  • Bombs will always have a fixed point under the ship

  • Avatars
  • Lots of sleeve tattoos
  • Additional skin tones
  • Bloodline blending

the localised damage on ships is awesome, as well as the titan split in two and hopefully will be spewing its crew into the cold vacuum of space

Yay, the Purifier model showed on fanfest is not the definitive model, it'll change a lot appearantly.

It's bad that Art Panel translation was interrupted by Dust finals. Not only because Dust translation looks horribly low-res on 2Mbit HD stream, but also because Art Panel is somewhat more interesting than FPS deathmatch amongst noobs.

Whoops i shouldn't of made a thread :/

they were saying they couldn't think of anyway to make the cinematic camera to work. but eve ca allready render PnP, like with the turret or ship preview windows.

Agreed. Some of the players looked like they'd never played a console FPS before.

They didn't just look like it, if i hazard a guess 60% of them never played anything but rockstar on the ps3

Did they say anything about the nebulae receiving a quality update? I guess something like that is pretty far out since the client would have to be updated to support optional patches first.

At the very least, the latest CSM minutes report states that there's an interest in making the nebulae better looking.

I don't know man, I think they somehow managed to make the Imicus look even more horrible.

That's one EVE ship that needs a complete redesign, from ground up.

Did anyone get a video of this segement? i was at work when it was shown and the repeat will be at like 2am and i have work again tomorrow :s
