Warp Scraming Belt Rats in Null Sec

The rats in the Belts within Null sec will sometimes warp off after all their rat buddies have been killed and are invulnerable while they are preparing to warp. What's more, it seems no matter the type of ship, they are all immune to Warp scrambling.
Is there anyway to stop them from doing this and is there any significance to them warping away?

Unless something has changed, you just didn't get there or kill them fast enough. No, warp scramming has no effect -probably shouldn't need one fitted to your ship unless you intend to PvP in the same instance.

Thanks for clearing this up. I had been ratting for some time with a warp disruptor fitted, but I never seemed to have it running on the rats that were trying to escape, so I could never tell if it was working.

On the other hand, maybe you couldn't scramble them because they had already entered warp. It does take them a few seconds to accelerate and get off the grid, but just like a player, they're invulnerable as soon as they start. So if you really wanted to be sure, you would have to catch a rat aligning away from you, then scramble it. If it stays while scrambled or especially if it stops moving briefly, then it probably means you can scramble them. And if it warps when you release the scrambler, there's even better evidence that they can be scrammed.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Nope, rats straight up break the rules. Same with their near invulnerability to ECM.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.
