Subcap to solo officers?

Ok so I encountered a Vepas BS officer along with 3 other battleships in a belt in Venal. I had to warp out in 15sec on my perma dual large rep abaddon. The dps he did was just insane, we ended up killing him, but had to share spawn with a couple other guys.

Belt ratting in 0.0 if you can't solo an officer is kinda meh, and gonna cloejump to empire to do incursions if it isn't possible to solo, so I'm looking for suggestions. Can fly all subcap amarr, and very soon minmatar, was wondering if any ship max 3b mods included would be able to solo these officers in venal?

I was thinking maybe a Vargur,Sleipnir,Looki or something? anyone knows for sure?

Tengu and drake can both solo him no problems

You sure a drake can? you need over 800dps to brake his tank and he hit my abaddon for 1500 per shot + 3 other bs as well .

Besides i cant fly caldari.

Have u tried it? A few years back officers were very easy, but they have been buffed alot.

Any Marauder could probibly do it. Tengu as well, speed tanking with HAM's maybe?

"probably" anyone actually tried? I appreciate the responses guys, but I want to know for sure before I spend 3b on a pimped marauder etc.

i would suggest marauder, but where you are that is just screaming gank, and to be honest anyone with any kind of sensor jamming would slaughter a marauder in pvp. I'm currently using a pimped tengu, the god of pve. so if you really want to get into ratting, train for caldari

as said, speed tanking and HAMs, though personally i replaced the small shield booster with a pithum c-type medium booster, which takes away cap stability, but is nearly half the price on contracts and gives higher boost, but you need an inherent implants 'squire' engineering eg-601 implant to give you needed extra powergrid. battleclinic does not include faction and deadspace mod prices in the values section, so this loadout is actually about 2.5 billion isk, but it is so worth the price.

This is the scourge of Guristas, with a bonus to kinetic missile damage which is what guristas are weak against. when you use trauma furys this bad boy kills guristas and eats their eyes for jujubees. this fit is about a 6th the price of the super tengu, and s for those with a (moderatley) tight budget

I dont rat with neuts in system and we got pos so im not worried. Also not gonna train for caldari, it's out of the question :d

So a Vargur should be able to do the job?

If you are planning on Minmatar ships vs Gurista, note the straight kinetic damage of the various ammo.

Plasma is *not* always your best bet there.

Alright thanks :)

Think a Vargur has enough tank with a few faction mods to tank an officer? as I said with 70s resist on my baddon and dual large reps, I had to gtfo really quick, got shot for 1500 a pop by the officer.

Nightmare + blue pill can tank in excess of 3000 dps.

4500 dps with crystal set.

While dealing 900}+ dps itself.

It's a ~2bil fit though including hull.

Cap booster, deadspace x-large shield booster, 2 invulns, caldari navy boost amp, t2 shields rigs should be 1 anti-em if required for your rat type, charge economizer, and the one that shortens shield boost time.

I'm guessing this officer was in a battleship. He might have officer tracking, but he'll have BATTLESHIP officer tracking. So any battlecruiser can probably tank him if it can get in close enough before its tank breaks. As for the other three battleships, I can't say cause I wasn't there. But a T3 is probably the easy way to go honestly. It can zip in there under their guns and break em down one at a time. Afterburner fit would be ideal for max transversal if the spawns are spread out at all. Do they web/paint? You could jam any that do.

I guess the answer to your question is Tengu. It's like the 42 of EVE. But I'm sure a Legion can get the job done too.

Since you aren't willing to train Caldari,I think your best option is a 100mn AB Legion or 100mn AB Loki. Loki will get better damage against everything but Sansha/Blood (unless the legion is HAM fit).

I would look up either of those two ships, as they'll be able to get under the guns and hit him from closerange (just like the tengu).

Not Flyinghotpocket's alt. At all.

Faction Warfare is like Fight Club. But with spaceships.

If you're planning to do this ratting using the character in the OP, congratulations a locator agent just gave your system away. If not, then any marauder that can do Kinetic/thermal damage (Golem, Vargur, to a lesser extent Kronos) would work well.

Tengu with high damage t2 heavies will **** officer face faster than you would expect, and can tank just fine with just t2 mods and t1 rigs. Just don't get too close to officers. You want to stay a minimum of 40km away from them NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE FLYING. Aggro them first and draw them away from the escort.

Rofl come get some, I'm not afraid of pvp ^^ Besides i dont do stupid stuff like ratting in system with hostiles.
