Is there a viable solo ship that can be used within FW for ecm aside from scorps that attract frogs like a cloud of flies? Oh and preferably isnt alpha'd by the first equal sized hull that shows up either.

BlackBird with Projection Rigs.

Do it from 100km.

***EDIT:
Didn't see you say SOLO the first time around.

The ONLY solo ECM ship worth a crap is the rook.

ECM is frowned upon.
You fly an ECM boat and you'll attract people, whether or not it's a griffin or a widow.

No one likes ECM.

It's not just fleet war. Flying ECM in any type of fleets or gangs is just asking to be primaried.

I only fly ECM because I'm an attention ho.

I have no experience to share in solo PvP, though.

ECM is by far the most hated game mechanic there is. Everyone uses it but everyone hates it also. So you will have people going pretty far out of their way to kill you if you generate a reputation for flying dedicated ECM boats. That said, both the falcon and rook are acceptable solo boats. A blaster falcon has nothing on a pilgrim or rail arazu when it comes to ganking individual players, but it does work. Ditto for the rook.

Allegedly the widow has some solo potential, but I wouldn't advise trying that until you've mastered the recons. I have also seen a blackbird solo another cruiser once by smartbombing it to death over the course of 5 minutes. Not sure if it can be properly armed though. The griffin and kitsune also have some very light solo potential but once again I have no personal experience here.

Long range falcon or blackbird if you can't afford the falcon.

I have an alt that can jam out to 150k. But a more reasonable goal for you would be 100k.

Only the Rook is a viable solo ECM boat. However, this is only on paper as no-one fights a Rook solo. You'd best be prepared to deal with friends, probably alot of friends.

As previous people have stated, Rook can solo well enough...sorta.

Still I'd advise against solo'ing in an ecm ship in FW land, mainly cause a good majority of fights occur on gates, and jamming your opponent out = an early de-agress for them (unless they forget to call back drones) and they can easily jump out.

If you happen to lure or catch someone off a gate, then you better hope to god you bring the target down before his friends come rumbling in cause a ecm boat's survivability in solo drops off the cliff when more ships come on field. A rook doesn't exactly have the dps to bring anything significant down quickly (I've heard good things about a duo rook gang, though), so your selection of targets fall into cruiser and select bc's and below.
Of course there are times when solo BB's or what-not manage to bring ships down and other amazing feats, but I doubt those guys get such victories all and every time, conditions were right for such things to happen.

Also, no one is gonna engage a ecm boat, especially a t2 ecm boat, by themselves. Unless they're insanely lucky, they're gonna be perma-jammed the entire fight and that's a sad panda. Or they have friends with them.

As for people frowning upon ecm use in game, LolLolLolLolLolLolLolLolLolLol
they just mad we styl'in on them.
