I have installed Eve today, and got the launcher, patched it etc, so all set to go.

Launcher comes up, I click PLAY, splash screen for crucible comes up, disappears......then nothing.

When I check the Task Manager, I have "ExeFile.exe*32" running from "CCP ExeFile", but no client, login screen or anything else.

I am running Windows 7, on a Lenovo B560 4330.

I do not get any error messages, and have tried repairing, and re-installing the client (Had to do manual download)

Not sure if I have the same issue, I was told I could copy the EVE install from one computer to another (to save downloading on multiple machines) and when I try to run EVE all I get is the splash screen then nothing on my fresh install of Windows 7, process remains running using about 180mb of ram, click launch again and the same thing happens, and a new instance appears in task manager process list

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU
6GB ram

This sounds like a cache problem. It could be the Launcher cache being corrupted or the EVE client settings being corrupted.

Try clearing the cache of the Launcher first as it doesn't matter much:

1. Go into the directory of the eve client
2. Open Launcher\Cache
3. Delete all files
4. Click Play

If that doesn't work, try clearing out the EVE client cache/settings:

1. Open the Settings (click the small spanner and screwdrivers at the top)
2. Go to the EVE Client Settings tab
3. Click the two "Clear" buttons next to the Settings and Cache.

Does that resolve this issue?

My son is also having this problem, although the client on my computer is fine.

He's running Windows 7 Home Premium. NVidia graphics, Intel chip. We're reinstalling everything to see if that fixes it. He did get a "blue screen of death" when he tried to launch it last.

The computer is quite new, all other applications work fine. This is the first problem we've seen with it.

Uninstalled using eves unistall, deleted both the EVE and CCP folder in program files x86. Installer failed, had to download it as suggested manually. When I ran the installer it failed during installation and had to go through a repair process as guided by the installer which did complete the install. Ran the eve online launcher from the icon it created on my desktop, said it was ready to go, hit play and same exact thing as we have all been experiencing to the T as the first poster, Rhivre, states. Sad

Exactly the same issue. Even went to the extent of a clean install win7, still wont open past the splash screen. Repair tool has not worked, but says everything is fine.

**EDIT** this worked:
ran repair as per https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=939034#post939034
repair.exe --safemode --dlthreads=1

eve has now loaded - 2 mins into DT Big smile

Still nothing. I uninstalled eve and my avgfree antivirus, rebooted, fresh install of the latest eve, repair during installation because I had to, ran in safe mode and same exact problem still...ugh.

Am I the only one who can't start the game? lol my training queue is inactive since 2 weeks now.

I've tried to delete common.ini but nothing change
I've tried to repair xxxxx times but nothing change
I've unistall and install again EVE but nothing change.....
I've execute updater in cache folder, nothing change...
I've tried to launch eve by safe mod but nothing else
I've install directx as said before but .... Sad

I'm getting out of solution, it's a bit disappointing....! And the most amazing is I paid for that.

You are not alone, I also have been through this all and have the same problem. Luckily I know someone who plays to update my queue. Soon though I'll have to cancel my account if I can't play.

So suddenly (no driver or software installs at all) a couple days ago it finally launched an actual screen and I played for a couple days then the game froze up the entire computer and has not worked since. Did it all again, reinstall, cache clearing, safe mode and nothing. Very depressing.

Still the same pb...

When I check my Windows Task Manager there is a cmd.exe executed when I launch EVE but it isn't working, I think the cmd.exe is not working, that's the problem, and I don't know how to resolve it.
