You can skip the launcher by running bin\ExeFile.exe directly:

> taskset 1 wine explorer /desktop=0,1024x768 "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe"

This allows me to run the game with only msvcr100 set to builtin, native.
msvcr80 and msvcr90 can be set to native, builtin.

This might help some of us get some fps (frames per second) back. Of course on patch day, you will need to run eve.exe again to get the update.

The "taskset 1" restricts the game to one processor since some of the processor balancing code might be broken (1,2).

At this point will it try to access 3D graphics for the first time. You need to start looking there.

Enter "glxinfo" to see if you have an existing OpenGL environment and run "glxgears" and "glxheads" to see if it displays something.

You will find more info here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Install_EVE_on_linux_with_wine
