Flight of a Noob Moros: A Pubbie Event

I was going to wait till she announced the prizes, but it appears that will never happen. So I present to you...

Flight of a Noob Moros: A Pubbie Event


A few months ago a high sec pubbie named Marlona Sky hosted an event that attracted other hopeless pubbies from high and low sec to spend some time shooting her in her Moros (I know, structure grind much? lol) and there was apparently enough attention of this that ISD was bored enough to cover the event. Roll

So what is this?? This is news worthy? Are you joking? Let us clear some facts up right now. Any time there is news about this terrible game, it is due to proper null residents providing the content. That is what makes BBC news, what it talked about for years, what new aspiring players how to do when joining the game. We, null sec, keep this game interesting for the masses. Not some has been who's only accomplishment was trolling everyone for a few minutes into thinking he killed a Dramiel with a hauler, when in fact; it was his alt the entire time. I know right. Pathetic! Lol

So let me speed this up to the point. So after that 30 seconds of fame, a few months later in February she announces another event (the same boring structure grind) for pubbies to flock to and attempt to have fun. There was one difference. Due to last time being outlaw for the event, she QQ a lot about having to repair the sec status hit from the last event. So this time she was just going to shoot someone to go criminal so they can shoot her in 100% safety from station guns.

And right there, was the opening we were waiting for. A plan was formulated to crash the pubbie party. The goal: Prevent anyone from being able to compete for the prizes. "But, but... how do you plan to do that?" I hear you ask. Simple. Before she undocks, murder every last person not a bro. In the process going global ourselves. By not allowing any targets for her to go GCC on, there is no way anyone (especially a frigate) can shoot her without getting proper owned by the station guns. :ultimatesmug: Blink

When she did undock, followed by a steady stream of popcorn frigates for us to haze, it was impossible for a dreadnought to lock a frigate to shoot, thus... no GCC. The sheer amount of tears in her event channel was absolutely divine. "But, but... that is horrible. Why would you sabatage an ~honourable~ event like that?" Again, two parts to that answer. One, because we CAN! Welcome to that sandbox noob. And two, because null players drive this game. Not some noob in a Moros. In many ways, we saved that terrible event. Saved it from a boring structure grind and turned it into something fun. I had fun.

Another very disturbing part of all of this, is the fact that it was us who won the prizes for the one thousand Rifters and PLEX. Two honorable TEST pilots were the final blow for the dread and the capsule. So, where is their prizes?? WHERE??? Oh that's right, Marlona Sky never contracted them over. She claims she did it after the event, yet our guys have yet to receive them. So much for having integrity ehh Marlona? Pathetic! So you can most likely guess that there never will be any prizes given out. That's right. All the honest people who donated were scammed. Again, so much for integrity.

So consider yourselves informed and steer clear of any player events not sanctioned the proper player driven content, us, null residents.

I was THERE, man! EVE is real!P

I was there - or one of my alts was, anyway. My disposable frigate was one of the ones that went up in smoke exiting the station after the Moros. I lost a second disposable frigate trying to get back into the fight. I realize that some folks can't imagine I had a good time, but I did. Not as good a time as I'd preferred to have had, but some grins were there to be had.
If nothing else, now I know what it feel like to be the duck in a shooting gallery. Blink

So - TEST showed up to the party and crapped in the punchbowl? Big deal - that's what happens when you issue open invites in bad parts of town. If you're not preparred for a mosh-pit, don't show up. Yeah, I got jacked-up, but that's what I came for - When I punched the 'eject from station' button, I had a thrill of adrenaline running through me. I *knew* TEST was out there, all guns blazin'.

I *could* have stayed docked-up, but I chose to enter the mosh pit. And so did dozens of others. Call us Pubbies. Call us Carebears.You're mostly going to be right. So what? When it came down to cases, we went out and faced the music instead of sitting safely docked-up.

And yeah, I learned a few things. Should another such event come up, I have a much-improved plan of action, for which I must thank Marlona - and TEST. Without this event, I would have been a LOT longer figuring some things out.

All the Hurrr-Durrr and chest-thumping action is fairly pathetic, and no one is going to buy the 'you need OUR permission to have fun' line of crap, but it doesn't matter. EVE is EVE, and fecal matter occurs.*

Goons didn't invent the term, they just adopted it and claimed it as their own. We were talking about pub servers and the pubbies that played on them around the same time SA came into being.
