Null Sec died or something?!?

4th attempt at posting this (Sort your D*mn forums out CCP!!! Evil) So it's the quick, quick verson of the original I wanted to post Roll

What the hell has happened to null sec ? Now it used to be a bustling hive of peeps out there doing their own thing. Last night, decided to head out on one of my chars for some much needed pewpew only to find....

15 jumps deep in (from a known highsec gank route) & not a soul in sight!! Last time I achieved this was back in '03 when space truly was empty and the average number of people logged on was 1.5k at any one time! Actually flew out alot further without much joy before calling it a night!

My thoughts on why this is?

Too many stations - null sec should be just that.. null. Get rid of 90% of stations
SOV & POS's - again, null suc should not be conquerable. Allow POS's for corps to live in but either increase the fuel cost so it's not viable to have more than a few (even for the larger alliances).
W-Space - Too easy to get back out of. Remove the guaranteed highsec static spawns on C3+ . Make them back to what they should be.. HIGH RISK with a 90% chance of truly getting stuck in them for months on end (i.e. massive reduction on mass before wh entrance/exit collapses).

Again, apologies about the short rambling version (Still p*ssed at having the write it out again!). May come back and edit it out to the fuller version with more detailed thoughts.. maybe... Roll

And Remember kiddies... "SELECT ALL" & "COPY" before posting... stupid damn....*grumble* grumble*

.**EDITED BIT - this was supposed to have been in the original post**

One thing I've noticed is that people seem to have forgotten what each area of space was actually designed for:

  1. HIGH SEC: Safest area but not guaranteed

  2. LOW SEC: For those that want a bit more risk than what High sec has to offer / Place for PvP'ers to test their metal against players & Gate guns with little (or no) intention of returning to highsec (blinky blinky Twisted )

  3. NULL SEC: True Outlaw space. Anything goes with little or no repercussions.

  4. W-SPACE: Massive risk / Massive Gains. High chance to truely get lost in space!

  5. So for risk v's return: Hi-sec < Low Sec < Null Sec < W-Space

It's not only nullsec. Former lowsec hotspots like Egghelende and Rancer are nowadays a lot less dangerous that they used to be before CCP managed to convince a sizeable portion of the population to stop playing.

What you acknowledge are the numbers CCP don't want us to know anymore since they show anything but a bright future... Subscriber numbers falling, as one can see plotting the daily PCU over the last 6 months.

Nullsec isn't quite dead yet, its just on life support. "Winter is coming" which hopefully will revitalize 0.0, either that or it will be the 2nd biggest let down behind Incarna ofc.

No pressure Soundwave and Team Bff.

Yes now its time for the player base to see what CCP does and not just what they've been saying.

BFF have been doing an awesome job. The pressure is on the people who decided how many dev teams are to be assigned to spaceships.

For the most part of my EVE live I have been in 0.0. Then, it ended...

I will not go into the details about it, but if the only existance for anyone in 0.0 is to have have a massive supercap fleet and be a cheating douchebag, then 0.0 is not a place for me. I hate asskissing and the amount of **** you have to take from blues was unbearable. Another reason were egomanic psychopaths as alliance leaders and directors.

....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.

Exactly my situation.. 0.0 is just out of question with its current mechanics even though I have been there since my whole EVE life.

What happened to nul-sec?

Greyscale happened. And the ginger twit is still delusional about how badly he ****** it up last winter and that he was told by real nul-sec player that this is what was going to happen. The Incarna fiasco and all that followed only exasperated it this summer.

We too decided to go on a roam 3 nights ago. 26 jumps, and if all we saw was blues, it would be something. All we saw was no-one!!!

You flew through 15 nullsec systems and didn't find anyone? Yep, you're right, nullsec is dead. Roll

While we're at it, I just ran 6 sanctums and got crap loot. Clearly CCP nerfed Sanctums with the recent patch.

russians happened. they took most of 0.0 just because they can with huge superblob and use only fraction of that space to anything. they are just denying space they dont use from anyone to settle who is not renter or blue and thus securing most of income for RMT without competition.

Maybe the re-introduction of ship spinning will bring people back :)

So if they're never in these systems, why not just go in and farm them anyway? Cloaks work for ninja-PVE as much as they do for the afk'ers in null.

Yeah, CCP ruined null....by introducing sov. Lol

Maybe the re-introduction of brain cells into the grey matter of CCP execs will bring people back :)

Last Friday of summer

anyhow perhaps you guys all need to get out of your super massive alliances if all you see is blue when you roam

When I roam I see a handful of blues, and mostly 5-25 man gangs of oranges, reds and neuts. We get the occasional 1-2 carrier hotdrops and the odd blops gangs, but nothing on the scale of supercap armageddon you people describe every time you post

Now while its true that we may not find a good fight its not for a lack of willing enemies, usually more of a lack of enough people in fleet to do anything about it.

No, you wont have your pick of targets like a big game hunter at the petting zoo, but there certainly is not a dearth of players, not at least around these parts.

I think people might want to consider that their own politics and those of their alliances have screwed up their own local null sectors, and that your part of null is not all of null.

Even a dog knows you don't **** where you live, and when you do you have to deal with the results.
so instead of crying on the forums how bad null is, drop your over saturated alliance, and move someplace else and quit condemning all of null because the 10% you see is fouled by your own hand

Yeah, I know right? It's not like there is quantifiable evidence the game is flying down the crap hole.

Oh wait:

(Scroll on down and look at the all time graph.)

It's like they made it their business model after last January to drive people away Lol

But what do I know, I'm sure that's why Hilmar and all them make the big bucks right? They know what they are doing. They in no way are high on themselves and shut out the valuable opinions of those around them that offer wisdom.

They're the bigwigs. The head honchos. Top dogs. Big cheese. High men on the totem. VIPs. They couldn't all possibly have their heads so far up their asses that their only sellable product is actually dying of anal asphyxiation.

It must be like you say, the OP just ruined his space and broke it and scared everyone away. And these other people, they are all dumb too.

CCP has done what Les Grossman would call "****ting the money bed".

They weren't the first to do it, they won't be the last.

Look on the bright side:
-all those people over the years that said "eve is dying" will be vindicated
-it will open up a spot in the market for the next best scifi simulator.
-when almost everyone is gone, Mr fat face talking pinata up here will be able to show off all his farmed likes on these nice new broken forums without smarter people calling him out on his BS
