faction standings agents problem

So I decided it was about time I repaired my dismal gallente standings I earned through many missions, so I got in an interceptor and headed off to a gallente data center with a cargohold of serpentis tags to redeem myself. I managed to pass through several gallente gates with the standard warnings about my criminal status to the federation (around -6 or so I just want to repair standings enough to travel freely there) and warped to the data center agents in space. Well, as I was deciding who to talk to first, a gallente npc navy ship warps in and starts shooting me! I didnt think they chase you down as concorde would, so what gives? Will I be able to use these agents or will I be hunted down wherever I am? By the way they were lev 1 agents, so I should be able to use them, and I did manage to warp off and am now docked in system.

Fed Navy's gonna chase you down anytime you're in their space. I ended up in a similar situation when I first started missions, running for a caldari corp and ended up in Gal space (back when agents had different quality) when I had no clue what standings were.

At just -6, you can probably train some levels of diplomacy, assuming you haven't already, to get above -5 so they'll stop shooting you, and you can work from there.

With -5.00 or lower Faction standing, the Faction NPC Navy will attack.

Best thing to do right now is leave the Tags in the station and get back into friendly space. Once back in friendly space, start working this 'Plan'.
