Not really surprising - Battleclinic is a piece of **** website and it is staffed by incompetent jerkwads. Thanks for the tip though.

I had the detection as well about every other week. I gave up going there MONTHS ago. Really nasty over there unfortunately.

Battleclinic used to be a lot better.

tbh I wouldn't even use it anymore if I didn't have every KM I've ever been on posted there. Eve-kill is much better these days.

And site owners wonder why ad revenue won't pay the bills - mostly because we can't trust you not to serve up malicious ads.

Out of the 45,000 daily visitors to BC, we've heard this complaint directly from exactly 3 people. The one person who replied when we asked for details, (so that if it actually was happening, we could fix it) helped us out by showing his AV logs, and there wasn't a direct pointer to our adverts. That's not to say it's not happening, we'd just appreciate you helping us find the issue. We're not seeing any problems from regular users who are posting tens of posts a day.

So, if you get any indication at all that something's amiss with the ads, I want to know about it immediately so we can trace it and kill whatever it is dead.

Digital hostility. One of my favorite passtimes.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

i will attempt to find the logs and if successful I will mail them to you. not try to shame bc, i love bc kb's. didn't really know where to post something like this and figured the community should be aware.

This happens with most ad networks even on big sites. The ad networks don't always screen ads so this junk slips in. Most web sites use the same ad networks which makes the problem worse.

Battleclinic is alright, I just think the website is poorly designed and is rather slow.

I think it's great, apart from the malware risk.

Also, I wish it's KM Search was a bit more ROBUST.

Agreed. If they cared about their unlogged users (who might be persuaded to sign up and maybe contribute) they'd turn off those terribly ******* annoying pop-ups in the lower left.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

If nothing specific pointing at the ads why do you not believe that the site itself hasn't been hacked??

Those pop-ups are why I don't use Battleclinic. I very well know I am not a registered user (nor will I be one), you don't have to remind me every time I click a new page.

eve-kill doesn't go out of their way to annoy their visitors, so they win my advertising non-dollars.

The notification system was changed yesterday to be opt-in, rather than opt-out.
