Hey all,

I am new to EVE, i did play it a very long time ago but i have forgotten everything.

I need some guidance.

I've just started again, got Gunnery V and working on Gallente Frigate IV at the moment.

I have some questions that will help me greatly.

I have done a bunch of tutorial missions and i am now at a point where i have a 10 stage mission, which i have just completed.

The last item i received was an ocular filter (+1 Perception)

This guy now says he has no more missions for me and lots of agents will help me but i have absolutly no idea where or what to do at this point.

I do know that i want to get level 4 combat missions, at the moment i'm in a tristan. Does anyone know where i should go to grind combat missions to start my journey to my level 4 missions? I'm gallente and want to focus on combat and PvP if that helps?

The other major quesiton i have is....I have a goal, my goal is to be a stealth bomber (nemesis), i want all the skills to be able to fly that ship perfectly with the best fits. I have used EVEMON to plan this out but not sure if i have gone for the right plans, i simply selected nemesis and then reccomended (added to the plan) and requirements (added to plan). I also found the highest rated fit on battle clinic and added all that to plan aswell.

What i want to be able to do is grinding missions and doing PvP in cheap ships whislt i get to be the perfect stealth bomber pilot.

What ship as Gallente should i focus on first so that i am able to do level 4 missions without a problem solo? what ship should i focus on for cheap but effective low level PvP whilst i train to be the bomber pilot? i want to know the best route through my skills so that i'm not waiting 140 days to simply fly my dream ship.

Any help would be greatly appreceiated, i hope this all makes sense.

Kind regards,
Syntax Antares

P.S - Any corps out there want a commited noob to join there ranks?

At this point you can do anything you want, that's the beauty of Eve.

If you're looking to get into missions, then I would suggest picking a corp to run missions with and starting running lvl 1 missions for them. As you train skills and get experience, you can move up the missions. Always remember to keep your ISK-making ships separate from your PvP ships, you don't want to lose your ISK income.

And for a cheap PvP ship to learn the ropes in, I've heard the Incursus is pretty good if used properly. I don't have a ton of experience with T1 Gallente frigates for PvP though, someone else might have more helpful advice on a fit.

For easy introduction to mission running, I would suggest training drones up a bit and then using the Vexor -> Myrmidon -> Dominix ships. With a bit of drone skills they will do quite well and are relatively easy to run missions in.

As to the exact training path, it's pretty hard to say, there are so many skills and all of them are helpful. First off though, I would suggest focussing on the skills in the Core Competency certificates. Those skills are useful for all ships, no matter what you end up doing. Likewise with drone skills, most ships in the game benefit from having decent drone skills, especially the T2 Light and Med ones (which are much quicker to train than the Heavies and Sentries).

If you have other questions about more specific stuff, feel free to evemail me or message me in-game, I'm typically more than happy to help explain stuff. It's just kinda hard to provide detailed answers to such general questions.

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, this is an awesome page which shows an overview of all the stuff there is to do in Eve. I often suggest that newbies look at it and see if there's anything that catches their eyes that they want to do. Most people don't realize just how much there is to do when they're just starting playing.

You might try the Agent Finder. I seem to recall there is a button for it on the station services panel, and on the table in the Captains Quarters.

There is also a filter box for available agents on the star map.

NPC corporations that offer combat missions are popular, hence many people run missions for navies. However, there are a lot of other NPC corps in EVE.

NPC corps differ by the items in their loyalty point stores (I think there are 5 different stores for all the NPC corps in a given faction, so there is overlap).

Having a good selection of combat (security) agents at all levels is also something to look for (EVE-Agents can also be handy). As well as the location and NPC corp of the nearest storyline agent in the same faction. Agents located further from lowsec are also less likely to send you there. Ombey's 2d EVE maps or DOTLAN :: EVEMaps can be handy.

Station reprocessing facilities efficiency and locations can be important too, especially for miners trying to reduce the refining tax. But it can also be handy to reduce losses when reprocessing mission junk.

Similarly, running missions for the owners of a major trade hub is handy to reduce order broker fees.

Not a Gallente ship expert, so I'll leave that to someone else.

The above advice is good.

I'd add:
If you're just starting, and you don't /need/ to get a 5 (as a prereq for another skill, for example), don't go for it. You'll likely get a bigger bonus training something else to 4, which might well take less time. You'll start getting the bonus faster, certainly.

Woo! CSM XI!

May I ask what you intend to do with that bomber?

if u have bomber skills u can do low sec faction warfare missions and make good isk hour. Then u skip training bs todo lvl 4 mssions in high. i used to make 80m /h. caldari is easyest. u skip missions till u get kill commander missions then u jump there kill one guy and get 10mil and 10mil in lp. pick a system with a few agents near by. eha was my base u do like 5 jumps and u pass 4-5 agents so u got a lot of skips u can do. olny do the mission if no one is in local then u dont risk anything. with fw mission u can let the mission time out and lose no standing. so if u accept the mission and cant complete doesent matter. if ur in a stealth bomber u can warp everywhere cloaked so no risk

Mission and frigate expertise seem to conflict except in PVE content for Faction Warefare. FW comes with its own ups and downs, so I recommend reading as much about it before signing up. If your are trying to perfect bomber skills ( time wise ) whilst grinding some isk, I can't personnally think of a better place to do that.

If your more open ( or have skills already ) to deviating from a pure SB specialist, missions can be run almost anywhere while you skill up your SB skills. You will need a bigger ship than a T1 frig for the Lvl 4 missions that are used as the ISK/hr benchmark however. Most use Battlecruisers, T2 cruisers or battleships for that.

Just some general suggestions. I'll leave the exploring and learning up to you.

Stealth bombers stink unless in numbers especially for a starter ship...just trust me. BUT cov ops will also lead you to a Helios which is very nice to have.

As far as frigates, go for those all maxed out and sexy...especially if you intend to go visit Ravarin.

Use cheap t1 frigs with fits that will transfer over to the t2 equivalents so when you step up from an Incursus to an Ishkur you already have a good idea of what to do with it....lvl 4s in low sec?... see how you make out with a cruisers in lvl 2s first.

use the agent finder to find level 1 combat agents nearby.
for training i would get a cruiser, for galente i think vexor is the standard choice.
you will need lots of training for it, aside from ship skills u want medium guns to at least 4, and some support skills for gunnery to 4.
you also want tanking skills for armor and shield tanking, ask for a vexor mission fit, train the skills that the fit shows, run level 2 missions with the cruiser.
level 3 missions is the same process but battlecruiser flying a bc is about the same as cruiser so don't worry won't take long,.
lvl 4 is the same but battleships it takes a while to get decent and battleship flying and lvl 4 missions are much harder then 3 but you can do it you has forums
