Considering missionrunning for pirate factions

I'm getting very tired of running high-sec missions, and I'd be interested in going to null-sec to run missions. Having said that, I'm a bit concerned about my empire standings taking a big hit, and so I'd be interested to know which factions I can expect to face when doing missions for a certain pirate faction? To clarify, I'd like to know if there's a pirate faction that has a tendancy to give out more missions against amarr and caldari than against minmatar for instance, and likewise if a certain pirate faction has a higher chance of giving missions against other pirate factions?

More importantly - are you friends with the people who are hanging around the NPC stations there?

I'm not, but considering that I'll be starting off with L1 missions in a ship like a rifter or something similar, being killed isn't my biggest concern atm. Having said that, I suppose doing L4 missions for any pirate faction in the future might present a big problem. Still, I don't really know how to change that and I'll have to start somewhere, so I'd still be interested in an answer to my first post.

Well, I can't help you much with your OP (except to suggest that Thukker Tribe agents in Great Wildlands NPC space may give anti-Caldari/Amarr missions, but that's a big maybe), but I can also give you an anecdotal obversation. I sneaked an alt of mine into the Serpentis Prime system in an AF. I managed to run two level one missions (and got like 5 CONCORD Emblems, yay!) before being endlessly camped in the station. In the end, I just undocked in a pod and let them shoot me, so that I could take the pod express back to Jita :)

Good luck in your endeavours :)

I'll admit that doesn't sound too good. I guess I'll have to re-consider it, or simply try to find a less popular system/faction to run missions with.

You give up too easily.

The odds against me in that situation were fairly high - as fun as it was baiting the locals by my very presence, it was simply too difficult to undock and do anything meaningful (although, in retrospect, I should've created instawarp BMs before settling down).

However, now that we're talking about this, I might be tempted to try this again, knowing a bit more about the game and it's mechanics.

You can mission in Syndicate for gallente and Caldari L4 agents

You get the same missions as high/low sec you just get more payout and get to have more fun with the local pirates.

You can even find some quiet areas where you don't even see pirates if you just want to run the same missions with more payout.

My main interest in null-sec missions is indeed the increased payouts, including better isk:lp. I would've been particularly interested in running missions for Sansha's Nation, seeing as it's the only pirate faction that I have positive standing with (with skills). Having said that, it seems a lot like you'd have to be part of a major alliance in whatever region you want to run pirate missions in for it to be worth it compared to high-sec missions. This is a problem for me because I have no pvp experience, and I'm a very casual player. Therefore joining a corporation or alliance with lots of mandatory events isn't an option for me, not to mention that I doubt most of them recruit players without pvp experience. That's not to say that I wouldn't enjoy the possibility of pvp, because it would definitely make running missions more interesting, but at the same time I can't afford to constantly replace bc's and bs's, so I might have to pass on this, or at least postpone my plans for a later date.
