I said PL tackled 4 supers, killed all the support and the caps and killed two supers before the other 2 SDed. News article and YouTube videos are on EVEnews24 etc

I don't think you understand what "cold, harsh" means. Here's a hint: if you didn't bring enough ships to do the job properly, CCP isn't going to hold your hand and make it all better. Yeah, it sucks that you didn't get the killmail, but that's EVE. If you REALLY want that kill mail, then bring enough of the right ships to do the job.

If a kill mail must be sent out send it to the pilot who Self Destructed, because of all technicallities he is the one who laid the final blow on his own ship.

Actually, I like this idea the best. Would actually be poetic justice for all of those kill mail whores who use their API to autopost kill mails to battleclinic.

To kill a tanked Titan in 2 minutes how many hundreds of thousands DPS do I need?

So don't whine about all of PL/NC./Raiden supers because in your opinion that's what is needed to get that KM.

I'm *NOT* complaining about PL/NC./Raiden supers. In fact, I don't whine about balancing in EVE at all. I didn't whine about nanos, I didn't whine about falcons, I didn't whien about remote sensor damps, I didn't whine about 20m cap recharger IIs, I didn't whine about technetium, I didn't whine about dysp/prom, I didn't whine about warp-to-15km, I didn't whien about warp-to-0km, I didn't whine about gate camps, etc etc...

In fact, I think the only thing I *HAVE* whined about is:
1) Horrendous UI
2) POS management
3) Lack of transparency/communication from CCP during the Summer of Rage

We used to have a saying, one which I wish was still used:

OP is an idiot, this isn't an exploit nor should it be a bannable offense, but this is still an issue that should be addressed. Now that CCP has instituted PvP aggression timers so people can't log off their account while engaged in PvP, it should also be made so that you cannot Self-Destruct a ship that you're currently piloting if you are under the same aggression timer. Whether you want to look at it as catering to people whining about losing killmails is your choice, this would still make sense. It would even make more sense in a RP situation, if you were a captain of a ship wouldn't you rather die trying to cause damage to your enemies instead of taking the cowards way out? That is my 2 isk on this game mechanic anyways.

You obviously aren't familiar with Scuttling. AFAIK, self-destructing has a 100% chance of destroying all onboard cargo and all fitted modules. As such, there is a strategic advantage to self-destructing - to deny your aggressors your loot, which can be very valuable on larger ships.
