So I launch the game and there's a patch. Do I want to download it? Sure. Downloading....... .......... ........ Done! The client will now close and the update process begin.

Eve Online Update Setup starts up, and downloads a patch of sorts again.

Then the launcher restarts, and downloads a patch again (the real patch this time?).

Why am I downloading 3 patches just to implement 1 update? This happens every time now. Is this how the fantastick launcher is supposed to work?

From your description it sounds like you started an old client which didn't have a launcher so what happened was:

1. Your client started and you were told that the client was out of date and needed to be updated. You were asked to download a small Launcher updater file which is suppose to install the Launcher.

2. The Launcher updater is started and downloads the latest launcher and installs it.

3. The Launcher is started and patches the game.

This will only happen once. The next time there is a patch the Launcher will start, download the patch and allow you to click Play to start the game.

I installed the launcher on the day it was ... launched.

From that point on, I've had to download 3 patches every time (not just one). I don't start old clients, I only start clients with the PLAY button in the launcher.

The game seems to download the client update after the patch too why is that not part of the launcher?

I hate it when people whine about the launcher. It functions absolutely fine for me Lol

What bugs me is that there is no information about the patch that gets installed.

Like today. I started the game, the launcher downloads something and patches (?)
and there's no information whatsoever about what's going on.

This is very fair feedback. I will forward this to the team managing the website which the Launcher uses.

The launcher has been nothing but good for me. I think it was yesterday or maybe the day before w/e that it downloaded a patch, installed it and tada. No restarting this or that, it was done in under 30 seconds, I'm happy.

I do agree that a link to info on the patch should be there.

Why do we even have this launcher. It's like every time I want to log in and play it now takes me about 10 minutes while the launcher patches and updates things.

Then even when the game is open the launcher is sitting around being a nuisance.

Furthermore if you run multiple clients it seems to get confused as to whether to load another launcher or client sometimes.

I've had no issues with the launcher, but for the life of me, I have no idea what purpose it serves. It's just an extra step to log in. Maybe I missed it, but what is the benefit here? To make patching easier? It wasn't all that difficult before. Something else? I'm truly curious.
