So... drone and missile AI smart enough to navigate obstacles and chase a target, but no one thought to slap an aim-bot on the guns?

Oh, I really did.

I had forgotten about that film - word has it the director got some support to make a full-length CGI shortly after releasing Rosa, but I hadn't seen anything more about it and it got past me.

Hope they do put something more substantial into production, but for a short; it's near perfection - and I can't get enough of those camera angles.

Most either go wide or push-in too much and break the 180 degree rule, much like the interior shots of CCP's efforts for 'future vision'.

Handy tip: the rule of thirds is not the only mother fuckin' rule.

Ruin was amazing, although I too had issues with the running.

Rosa was beautiful, but i kept thinking "Matrix" while watching it.

it seems like the biggest hurdle for SFX animations is walking/running....which is why I was so amazed with CCP's walking effort in Incarna. it is not as visually jarring as the running/walking animation in Ruin.

Someone correct me if I am wrong...

Ambulations' animation came from using plugins. As you'll note and see, they are the same plugins used for GTA:IV. On top of that they licensed Enlighten for the interior ambience and tone of the EVE universe.

Not to mention using nVidia APEX for clothing, which'll no doubt be used partially or fully for WoD and of course Dust - which uses the Unreal Engine 3.

Sorry - but I find it hard to give CCP credit for much beyond the actual polygons and textures. If they knew how to build realistic animation, why didn't they do it themselves?
