My game has been working okay for the most part since the laucnher update. Today however I'm having an issue when trying to launch game.

It says,

The EVE launcher cannot update a directory in which processes are running. Please close the following process: exefile.exe

I don't know whats up, the launcher wont start to update and all just pops up with this message..

Suggestions? Running repair now.

This message means that there is still an exefile.exe running, which means it can not be updated. Please check with Windows Task Manager if that is the case and End Process if necessary.

If there is no exefile.exe running and you are still getting this error please let us know (best way is to write a bug report).

Having to close EVEmon and EFT every time it patches is getting kinda annoying though. Are these programs really locking the files - because the game did not previously have this behavior and I do not believe I have patched either 3rd party program.

If you put the EFT and/or EvEMon in the main EvE directory, they'll have to shut them down -- as the error message indicates, any process that's running in the directory will prevent an update from going through.

If they're in other directories -- don't know what to tell you, except to write to the guys that program EvEMon and the EFT to let them know about a potential bug.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

I'm guessing you put your EFT in the EVE directory? I don't know anyone else who does. I certainly don't.
Also, this was not a problem with the previous patching process. I'm all for launcher-based progress, but this error is a false-positive and it's annoying.
