Now that the rookie ships look cool... how about some faction or tech II versions?

I love the new Ibis and the tweaks to the Imperator. Since they look so cool now, how about making a more useful version like a Navy Ibis, or a 2nd Tier EWAR Frigate with the Rookie ship hulls. Something that lets us continue to use the hulls more long term, please.

What purpose would these ships serve? Rookie ships are meant to be essentially a customizable shuttle and a way to complete tutorial missions. There is no need to expand on rookie ships any further. Pilots are expected to be piloting their first frigate within their first day of the game.

Errr ... What in the name of god would be a "more useful noobship" ???

Those are used for the first few hours before you hit your first frigate ... not sure it even takes hours anymore.

And as instant shuttle replacement when you go boom.

I believe what the OP is asking for is that these new models that are quite pretty be not relegated to the only use as a shuttle/destroyable place holder. He'd like to fly them in a useful manner. He just enjoys the aesthetic of it, like I enjoy the aesthetic of the Arbitrator and now use it to destroy capacitors

I've been saying this for a while now. Even made a thread about it somewhere. The rookie ships look way better than any other ships now, so its a shame they are utterly pointless. Even rookies ditch them for their first frig after like 10 minutes. Might aswell just have players start the game with a Condor/Atron etc.

Here's the thread I started, if you want to see what other people think.

The new Velator model would be good replacement for the current ridiculous Imicus/Helios hull.

I still remember the days :(

First day in eve, my ibis..the over complicated fitting window that seemed like it had infinite possibilities. Wish i could erase my memory and start over again just to get that feeling back.

New Ibis is just too sexy for a rookie ship. Her overpowered look need to be used someplace else definitely. T2, faction, whatever with more boni and slots to have actual use.

Reaper looks WAY too good for a Minmatar ship, IMO. That ship is dead sexy.

CCP wants to impress noobies so they don't quit half a day into trial. The lot of you weren't about to leave anyway, and are more interested in stats than looks.Smile
