How to gank miners with destroyers.

Concord has response times based on sec status of the system.

Sec / Response time *
1.0 6 seconds
0.9 7 seconds
0.8 7 seconds
0.7 8 seconds
0.6 10 seconds
0.5 13 seconds

You can add 6 seconds to the response time by drawing concord to another belt or area in the system. Usually in mining systems there are cans or wrecks. If you shoot one with a noob ship you will take a very small sec status hit (.8048% in a .5). If you cant find a can you can have a "neutral alt" drop one. Or you can just shoot at a buddy. Make sure you don't do it on a gate or station as the guns can pop you before concord gets there. Once Concord arrives at the false alarm, you will have an additional 6 seconds to do your dirty work. Or, if you are a bad guy miner, you will have up to 19 seconds to defend yourself.

I prefer the catalyst to the thrasher, both are great. The idea is to find your rate of fire. Volley/dps = ROF.

335 DPS/599 volley overheated
1.8 sec ROF

Cheap and effeective. Some people prefer T2 weapons and stabs, you can get 700 dps if you prefer to solo. You should always overheat. Any dessie besides the cormorant is a good choice.
Here is the magik formula;

(Concord reponse time/ROF) x volley damage = total damage

For example in a .5 system:
((13+6)/1.8) x 599 = 5990 total damage. Add 3 seconds for each ganker after the first for concord to switch targets.

Here is a tanked mackinaw from battleclinic.

245/247.5 CPU
43.8/43.8 Powergrid
68% capacitor stability
Approximate price of Modules? 26 mil.**

Look at that sexy thermal hole. :wink

This will be easily taken down by 2 t1 fitted catalysts with some hobgoblin I's.

How do I find out their tank?

I use a cloaky alt. You can get them coming in and out of the station without them ever knowing you scanned them. You don't have to be cloaky, but thats how I prefer to find my warp in point. The only requirement is a ship scanner, but a passive targeter and ship scanner are very inconspicuous. You can run their fits through EFT once you know what they have equiped, and you can probaly just look and find the hole.

The basic idea is that you You call concord to another location . Get a warp in point bookmarked, or a cloaked alt. Or an uncloaked alt in an industry or mining ship. If you can, make your rally point for the dessies off of dscan of the blet. When you mark the target zoom out and pick a rally point that does not have asteroids in the path. When you are ready to kill warp in. Cloakies will decloak at 2k, so have your velocity tab open to make sure they are not spooling before you start the warp to. if your dessies are pre aligned they shouldnt have enough time to get away when you decloak on them. If you are not solo you should be on comms and call the spike. Everybody presses enter to the concord warning at the same time.

Protip: Ratting vanguard incursion belts in a triangle increases sec status quickly without having to mess with low/null.

Thanks Cipher Jones. Someone give this man a medal for a logical post on how to gank a hulk....now if the self destruct whiners could look at it the same way you can stop losing cap ships that keep making you rage because SD is ment to make the other guy rage at his futility of killing you.

Its as simple as ganking a hulk, you got 2 minutes instead of 15, modify the amount damage greatly with the thought as if the carrier was a hulk and there you go. Its obvious why they fail...pathetic damage. Derp! Yeah, its the user crying about a self destruct yet they just don't understand why....not enough to crack the tank and the guy self destructing knows that fact, so you should know the fact you don't have enough and increase it to break a tank in 119 seconds (not much different, CONCORD showing up on the scene in 15 seconds or a ship going boom to SD 120 seconds since it is a deadline and you need to beat it).

I have no campaign against the goons.Just bad poasterz. I have never even seen one in space. You mistake my stance on truly harassing people for a hatred of ganking. Ganking the same person over and over for nothing but "lulz" is something I do not endorse.

I remember you, you are the verbal bj guy. When you report back to your masters be sure to report my thanks. Thanks.

Oh, I also stole some of my techniques from Silent Alliance. Those guys were the nicest "pirates" I ever met.

I prefer this fit:

[Catalyst, Solo Gank]
7x Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
1x Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler
3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
1x Small Algid Hybrid Administrations Unit
1x Hobgoblin II

A bit expensive but it can solo any Hulk in 0.6 and down that doesn't have a damage control fit (which is most of them), you get half the modules back, and with the hulk loot (and especially the T2 armor plates) come out a bit ahead in ISK in the long run.

Had the advantage that an Orca alt can carry like 30 of them (5 assembled in the maint. bay, rest in the holds). Miners never watch their d-scanners for the ship rather obviously named "Suicide Cat" and it's hardly worth anyone's time to probe out a catalyst in a crowded highsec system, so I have my Orca alt kick one out in a safespot near the belt and I sit next to it in my pod, alt docks up, gets a covops out of the ship maint. bay and gets a warp-in on the target. Board, warp, pewpew, scoop & salvage on my alt while I warp my pod out.

Haven't done it in a few weeks now though, trained up a 2nd cyno alt so I don't have to spend a day in empire twiddling my thumbs whenever I need to run my alt's Anshar to Jita and back.

Don LaFontaine (narrator): On this episode of New Eden's Most Wanted, a ganker and his daring escape brought to you by your host, John Walsh.

John Walsh (host): Thank you, Don. Here we can see a footage of what appears to be a fleet of Thrashers warping away from a belt after ganking an innocent miner. Concord is later seen warping out to chase after the crooks as they try to elude capture by warping from safe spot to safe spot. Some even dare to gank more miners while being chased by the law but they are quickly caught and their ships destroyed. As for the rest, we can see that the remaining gankers continue to elude Concord but eventually they pull over and surrender as they see that the law cannot be avoided.

Some are seen ejecting out in their pods trying to escape, but Concord points them and pulls them in like fish caught in a hook. Here we have more footage of the perpetrators being pulled out of their pods as they continue to resist arrest.

[shaky footage]
Ganker: POLICE BRUTALITY! POLICE BRUTA.. **WHACK!!!!**
Officer: Shut up!
[footage cuts off]

John Walsh: Here, we can say that justice has been served.

Don: On the next episode, CSM candidates. See which ones are corrupt next week on New Eden's Most Wanted.

A person in my alliance came up with an idea to undock a ship full of shinies, redock, strip the fitting, then warp to a completed mission.

Is this "the spawn concord before you Gank for more time" trick?

Will two destroyers take down the usual things that one can't gank? Both of them have to spawn Concord elsewhere? Seems pretty interesting.

Would the Mittani approve of ganking tactics becoming part of the generally held knowledge of highseccers?

Didn't people already know about catalyst ganks and prespawning Concord?
