The launcher is an improvement. No more having to start the big fat client for an update, just to wait through all of that for a client update and start the big fat client again.

-1 You can adjust the launcher settings to launch the game w/o bringing up the launcher gui.

Ok.... But I'll muddy the waters by demanding that CCP keep it but improve it. I'll call it the "real men use launchers" campaign. But for future reference it would be helpful if you set out the arguments for why the launcher is crappy and what the alternatives are and why these would be better than an improved launcher.

It is a large improvement. Not only what you mentioned but if you've not been able to log in for a while and you try to log in and have 5 different hot fixes and updates to apply and you have to launch the game 5 times before getting in. The launcher eliminates this completely and is a good feature. Welcome to the year 2000 CCP! Lol

Why?

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

People can never appreciate an upgrade. Last time I checked the forums were monkeys throwing poo, now we have a crap launcher.

Launcher is working fine. Updates are coming in great. And the potential for faster updates is worth it.

I left the launcher on.
