[FOVRA] Selective Pressure, training combat pilots! (US TZ, Small Gang PVP)

Good evening,

I'm pleased to announce that FOVRA's Basic Training program is once again accepting applications for consideration.

What is this program, you ask?

Selective Pressure, or FOVRA as we're better known, is a small corp focused on high-quality PVP as a member of the well-established alliance Rote Kapelle. We have an opportunity for the right candidate to spend many hours training under my direction to develop, refine, or sharpen skills used in combat, including...

* Scouting
* Ship Fitting
* Skill Plans
* Combat Tactics
* Dogfighting Maneuvers
* Celestial Navigation
* Fleet Command

...and more. Think of this like Agony Unleashed's PVP Basic course, only on steroids. We will train for days and weeks, working one-on-one to develop you into a sharp weapon of death, limited only by your skillpoints in-game (which, in time, will pass). While training, you will get the opportunity to fly on RK combat fleets, usually 10-20 people in size, and experience PVP in an intense but rewarding atmosphere.

Why do you offer this program?

Simply put, if I can find someone with potential and develop them, they'll be able to live up to that potential (which makes them happy), they'll likely stay in the corp for a very long time (which is good for activity), and eventually they may grow into a leadership role (which makes me happy from less work to do). It's a win for everyone involved.

What does FOVRA and RK offer me as a pilot?

Simply put, lots of combat, everything from our normal small gang work and larger latenight and weekend fleets. Both are stable organizations, and have been around about 2 and 4 years respectively, and have a well established base of operations in nullsec (Syndicate). Respectable capital and titan capability for logistic purposes and anti-capital fleets. A good logistics backbone that allows you to put in orders and have stuff shipped to you from Jita with little effort.

What are you looking for in a good candidate?

* The right attitude. We want someone who is bright-eyed and eager to learn but not to the point of pestering everyone, hungry for advice but willing to form their own educated opinion, and a person who understands that our training is an investment in their potential, not a reward of some kind.

* Able to take criticism, constructive and otherwise. Rote takes combat seriously, and doing something stupid, from a bad ship fit to reckless move in combat, could result in you getting pretty badly flamed.

* Able to learn from their mistakes, while being humble and owning them when they occur. Maturity when it's called for it, such as fight-or-die moments in combat, but the ability to relax during downtime with other alliancemates and be social.

* Able to fly interceptors at a bare minimum. Tthe skills don't have to be perfect, but you'll be hard pressed to be useful in any of our gangs without at least an interceptor or better T2/faction ship capability.

* Time, and lots of it, usually on the order of 5-10 hours a week outside of combat. There's no schedule to meet or anything for the program, but I don't want to stretch this out for too long, as I only train one person at a time for our Basic course.

* US Timezone availability. A good rule of thumb is 5pm to 11pm EST, which are usually the hours I'm on.

How do I apply?

Send me an evemail with two things, first a statement of why we should pick you, and second answers to the list of questions shown below...

* What is your background? Any combat experience? Any knowledge of specialized roles, such as scout, FC, dictor, etc.?
* Where are you from? State or province (or country if nothing else) works for me.
* Are you able to speak clearly and comprehensively to other people using a microphone and TS3?
* How long have you been playing the game, are you currently subscribed? How many accounts do you have?
* What ships would you like to fly someday and why?

Deadline is one week from today for prescreening, after which I'll select the best three and interview them on voice comms to figure out which to select. I am aware this is Fanfest weekend - if you're going and are interested in this, get in your prescreen application early, and I'll be flexible with the voice interview whenever you return. I also shake my fist at you for getting to go while I have to stay home!

For more information on FOVRA, or for recruitment for more veteran pilots interested in us, see our normal ad on Failheap Challenge.

You're already pro, it'd be a short turnaround time P.

Gawd, how many RK vets are lurking these forums today? I didn't accidentally post this on the alliance boards did I P?

Just woke up, think it's time to kick this to the top.

If you are curious about the program but unsure as whether or not it may be for you, I'd apply anyways and see what happens.

Great program for any new or semi-experienced player who is looking for good PVP action. I was recruited as a 7 day old player that really new nothing about the game and have learned a ton of information in the last few months. The 1 on 1 training is very valuable.

Plus the fleets we put out just about every day are fun as well
