I would like to take part in PVP, but in a support role. I apologise if this has been asked before, but I hope to get some answers from the experienced pilots on the following:

1) What are the essential logistic skills I should train?
2) Are there extra skills to be more useful in logistics? (The non-essential, but value-add stuff)
3) What kind of ships would be good for logistics? (Not specifivally Amarr since I might use another character & race)
4) Fittings? I tried looking on Battleclinic, but my searches have been rather ineffective Sad
5) Any advice/guides on how to be effective at supporting my gang with logistics? Any other tips?

Thanks Big smile

This has been asked ALOT, look harder

1) Logistics V this is important, then the support skills to fly logi. good tanking and navigation skills
2) Logistics V, T2 tank, good cap skills, T2 prop's
3)Scimitar,Orinos,Basilisk,Guardian,(Carrier, super)
4)
[Scimitar, Scimitar - 4 Large Transporters]
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II

Invulnerability Field II
Conjunctive Ladar ECCM Scanning Array I
Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II
10MN Afterburner II

Hornet EC-300 x5
Light Armor Maintenance Bot I x4

5) A dead logi ship is useless, stay out of engagement range (your reps have a 70km range, use it) and gtfo if your primary

No Worries

Multi-tasking IV (more locked targets)
Shield Emission IV
Remote Armor Repair Systems IV.
Maxing out your capacitor skills.

This is a massively controversial one, but I think Logi V falls here.

Scimitar, Oneiros, Guardian and Basilisk. The t1 variants range from mediocre to utterly worthless.

Generally your corp/alliance/FCs have some idea of how they want logis run.

Any other tips?

-You can keep reps overloaded for an absurdly long time. ECCM (especially meta 4) as well.
-In small gangs, you really, really want ECCM. ECM drones, falcons, etc. crying about ECM being imbalanced doesn't save ships.
-In a MWDing Scimi, you can outrun ECM drones, wolololololol. In other logis, simply moving beyond drone control range (usually 54-57km) will make them lose interest and go back to an idle state.
-Keep a WL spot open at all times, for misc. purposes: i.e. a scout who gets tackle and you want to be able to land reps on him as fast as possible, etc.
-Stagger reps on frigs to keep them from being vollied between rep cycles.

Logistics is good and all, but I wouldn't discount the various ewar options in a support role. In particular long range webs/scrams/neuts, tracking disruptors, and ECM (dampeners can be ok depending on the other ships that are flown). The curse is a pretty nice support ship to take along since it has both long range neuts and tracking disruptors.
