Wondering about this suicide ganking catalyst fit

A corp-mate of mine was recently suicide ganked in her Hulk in a 0.5 system by someone with less than -7.0 security status and I was wondering how it was done in a destroyer

How is this able to take down a hulk in a 0.5 system, when the ganker was -7 or less sec status? I know the hulk wasn't tanked very well, but still this seems like a lot of ship to take out. My corp-mate has shield management, mechanic, and hull upgrades V, and had a 3% shield HP implant

4x Light Ion Blaster II
3x Light Neutron Blaster II

1x Warp Scrambler
1x Supplemental Scanning CPU

2x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

1x Small Hybrid Burst Aerator
1x Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator

Void S ammo

Mostly curious how this was done, because obviously it was :)

Edit: Fixed missing "II's" after the T2 modules on the ship

I'm trying to figure out how he was able to fire Void S with Tech 1 guns.

He must have been hacking, somehow. Yeah, I'd file a petition.

Should be around 500-600 dps depending how many other modules you copied over incorrectly (what you posted seems like an inefficient/strange ganking fit...)

Figure 15-30 seconds response time in a .5 system, that is anywhere from 7500 damage minimum up to potentially 18000 in an absolute best case scenario (for the ganker).

More than enough to kill a poorly fit hulk...I'd say its self explanatory....

I don't log in - I don't need to. My very existence griefs people. They see my name, and they instinctively fill with rage and indignation. Deny it all you want - but if you didn't care, you wouldn't have posted, would you?

I rechecked the killmail on battleclinic where he got blown up later that day and the edited fit is correct. And yes it seemed strange to me too that's why I was asking. Thanks for the replies though :)

This is the KM in question. We are curious how a lone catalyst flown by an outlaw could solo a hulk and also get the pod before faction cops and concord shut him down. I flew an alt in Hulkageddon 2 and I remember having trouble taking down much more than a retriever in a solo destroyer. It just seems a little unbelievable. Is the guy running some kind of exploit or is he just a pro ganker?

I'm not going to sit here and teach carebears how to tank their Hulks....

but that Hulk fit would have been easily killed by a solo T2 Catalyst in 0.7 or 0.8 space, not just 0.5 space.

Destroyers were buffed.
Hybrids were buffed.

Catalyst received two large simultaneous upgrades to DPS.

700 DPS Catalyst + knowing how to 'move' Concord = 14 seconds in 0.7 and 19 seconds in 0.5.

Thats 10K average damage and 13.5K damage, respectively.
Further - your shot quality will be high vs such a large, fat, target, which means you'll have some well aimed (+25%) or excellent shots (50%) as well.

So, short answer - yes, a 1 Million ISK Catalyst + about 10M in mods and good skills can scrap your 230M-250M ISK Hulk.

I do not believe CCP needs to step in and change a single thing. The message is simple:

L2Tank or B killed 4 free.

Hmmm...... Sounds like it might be time to dust off the ol' catalyst. Haven't ganked in a couple of years. Could be fun.

I've never heard of "moving concord." How does one do this to gain those critical extra seconds?

Attack something off-grid, or at least 150km away from your intended target.

Preferably in the 'free' noobship you just received by docking up in a station.

OK, so T2 ammo, Damage implants, etc. Also, ships are prepared in a safe that are already aligned, at least that's what I do with my gank talos. lol. So -10.0 pirates (YARR) can still gank in high sec, it just involves an alt to get all cozy right next to you. And to be honest, if you'r ******** enough to ignore that strange person in a frig sitting 20 meters away from you, you deserve to get ganked.

Thats why you plant a cloaked Rapier 2,001 meters away from them, 3001 if they have drones out.

You don't need a scram or a sensor booster IMO. You are better off to fit 2x ECCM's as the faction navy often get there b4 Concord and they can get you jammed b4 you finish if u are solo ganking. ( assuming you are already low sec status )

No, you are thinking of 'recycling alts' to avoid the repercussions of low sec status that results from excessive Concord summoning.

Because your suicide alt is well on the way to -10, and proud of it, attacking someone in a noobship for the express purpose of summoning Concord is not an exploit. And it would be unenforceable even if it was.

WoW. I simply have to reply to this old post. We are short before the release of the NEXT expansion, and you noticed NOW the changes they made to destroyers in crucible?

Yes, destroyers got buffed very much, they can do huge dps and are even less fragil than before. They are currently a good and cheap gank platform. You did notice the new tier 3 battlecruisers, did you? They can sometimes even kill several exhumers/ barges in a single gank.

Remove insurance.

Unfortunately this was considered an exploit, categorised under the "boomerang tactic". It has since been resolved - you can no longer warp once you have incurred global criminal cooldown.

OR: i like totally uninintended opportunities to get free KMs and "tears" so much that the whole idea of limiting my ability to get them would send me in a tantrum.
Tornado suiciding has perhaps some sense, but Catalyst is overly broken.
