PI output glitch?

I think i found a glitch and im wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It has to do with the Extraction Control Units... the output isn't being displayed properly and i think it is effecting the actual output. When i set up the units it gives me a data read out in the thousands, but when i press the install button, its dropped significantly. to the low 600s. Then, when i press the stop program button it goes back to the original high thousands reading. I understand that the output fluctuates and the level of ore concentration effects the level of output. but for the output to be displayed in 1.2 million in total output and then reduced to 63k total output just by pressing the "install program," must be an indication that something is wrong and maybe a glitch.. What is worse is that I think this might be effecting the actual PI output. Don't know what else to do other than to petition it.

How are your skills?

Specifically, planetology and advanced planetology. They give you a more accurate idea of what you're going to pull out of the ground. Low skills there = massive differences in the output.

I have also run across this same issue. The fix that I have had work for me is to replace the extraction control unit and repopulate it and the heads. And yes it does affect the actual output of the unit as I hadn't reliazed this same issue on a couple planets that I do PI on and notice a significant drop in the PI materials gathered from the planet.

I don't think that this a skills issue as I have been PI on two diffent characters and have only encounted this issue on one of the characters. Both characters have the same PI skills.
