Hi, I'm looking to create a second account for active-alt purposes, I have a simple question:

Is it legal for me to give myself a 21-day-trial?

If not, what are some legal ways for me to purchase a second account? I am not interested in "The Power of 2" deal because I don't find myself ever buying that much gametime at once.

not sure if there is anything about it in the EULA or TOS but i can at least tell you that you cant play with another account on the same computer if you are logged in with a trial account.

example: you are logged in with your subscribed main and want to login with the trial alt. -> Trial alt wont be able to login.
you are logged in with trial acc and want to login your subscribed main -> subscribed main wont be able to login.

logged in with the "trial acc" which you made into a full account by plex, subscription or cd key (this works even at day 1 of the trial), you try to login with main -> works.

other way around works too.

The important thing is, if you want to be logged in with an account that is still on trial, no other account will be able to login from the same pc at the same time. If you have turned the trial into a full account (you can do this already directly after creating the trial account which would result in 30 days + 21 days of gametime, your trial time is not lost) you can login with other accounts at the same time from the same computer

btw, i cant believe you got that nickname, what i cant believe even more is that it was still available until you grabbed it just a few days ago. If a had known that name was still available... DAMN :D

I just recently did this. Don't really see a problem with it or, at least, I don't see why CCP would have a problem with it, since you'll most likely be giving them more money. Two heads are better than one!

Thanks for the insight, I'm still not sure if it's legal or not so I'm scouring the EULA and Terms of Service, hopefully i can get a dev or gm to reply here.

Also: This character is nearly a year old, so I had the name quite a while ago.

Yes, you certainly can buddy invite yourself. Send your secondary the Isk to buy a plex, then once you've added the gametime to it, it will have 51 days, your main will have a free month, and you'll be able to log them both in on the same computer at the same time.

Post with your monkey.

Thread locked due to lack of pants.

I did this myself so it's well within the rules, in fact CCP encourage it so go ahead and send yourself the buddy invite.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

Yeah you can, I did mine with the power of 2 promotion couple years back, I think you got 6 months free for the second account at the time or something like that. Makes them money in the end as long as you don't do something stupid like try to game the system.
