Ah, I see what Goliath is talking about now. Boarding a ship never seemed to be particularly bad - it just allowed gankers to get in the zone faster, without waiting 15 minutes for the cooldown.

Its not just 'boarding' a ship while GCC'd that was changed.
Its also 'ejecting' from a ship while GCC'd.

Noticed it today, as occasionally I'll eject before Concord death in order to get my outlaw pod clear faster, so I can get on with looting...

---Now you get some kind of message about destroying evidence and not allowed to change ships...

The 'wide ranging consequences' he is talking about is the ability of gankers to kill several hundred Exhumers with a single Tornado, or other BC and smaller gankship.

Good to see that someone finally forced them to fix the game.
Also good to see that they fixed an actual exploit, rather than just nerfing clever tactics.

Still, would like to see something done about that GCC popup, reverting the default setting at a minimum.

-oh yes, and the botters that are still dominating ice belts everywhere. We do the hard work and identify them for you. CCP you just need to start handing out warnings and bans. I've been watching the same groups for months now, reporting and petitioning them continuously. Still there, still automated.

How can this be? I'm assuming you kill/pod them every time?

I'll say a couple things

1-Worst sec grind I ever had to do was -5.4 to -1.8 took two weeks of casual low-sec chain ratting
2-Immersion wise, security status should be alot harsher
3-If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime

Alot of the nerfs are to the meta-gaming methods players devised. For immersion's sake, they got closed. I do not think the change to War Dec mechanics is necessarily a good idea, but immersion wise. Althought if you make 3/4 of a corp leave, you did your damage. That you don't get any good ganks out of it is your problem, choose targets that can't afford to drop corp. Choosing indy corps that pretty much only use the corp as a chat channel or tax haven are not good targets now

Low sec is busteling with activity still. If you don't mind fighting semi-organized pirate & FWgangs or FW gangs.

You know about the 5 minute delay between sec increases right? or was it 15 minutes. Grinding sec is easy in a string of low/null, warp jump warp kill bs warp jump warp kill bs. Doesnt take long at all to raise your stat back up.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

Its true that if CCP are actually interested in luring people into the deadzone that is losec, they need to make it appealing to go there.

Casual PVP roaming is possibly one of the biggest / most accesible reasons to go there if it isnt your permanent home.

CCP are kinda shooting themselves in the foot with this change.

There should be a system in place where bounties and standing increases from NPC kills are shared equally between all in fleet.

They say there's no I in team, but there is now when theres a 1M isk bounty rat sitting in a belt and you need the sec status.

why bother with low sec when you can go null? (no security drops either). Any casual pvpers brave enough? :P

Tip --- scout null with covert ops ... find a relatively quiet area (know your locals, have safes, etc), then return in your pvp ships and find targets.

However, as a valuable segment of this game, I feel piracy needs a little more attention than this. This change does sound like it was not well thought out.

Well thanks for letting us officially know it's a defect. Any ETA on when this will get fixed, because this sort of stuff is getting extremely annoying

I don't really like to give out specific dates for stuff like this because a) I'm not the guy making the fix and b) I don't like to make promises that aren't mine to keep. It's certainly not going to get benched, I'm confident enough to say that.

Yeah no need to hurry up on this one. It's only been a few months since this new bug feature was introduced and reported in many places. Considering it took about 3? months to get confirmation that this actually IS a bug we should see a fix by 2014.

Darius...the ganking alt of this alt's main will begin infiltrating corps and destroying mining ops and helpless Orcas immediately.

Your dedication to tears makes me so excited I could explode in a carebear's face.

Sorry to burst your bubble Darius but word on the street is CCP will be adding PvP flags for any action taken anywhere in the game. Since CCP long ago sold the sand out of the box that we knew as EVE-ONLINE, PvP flags is one of the last things left they can use to save their current majority of paying player base, high-sec carebears. Mark my words when FAIL-514 hits CCP will have to add PvP flags into EVE because anyone that they want to pull into EVE from FAIL-514 won't want to play it otherwise.

EVE conversion into World of Failcraft is 80% complete.

There are great things coming for pirates soon, don't think that CCP has turned their backs on us. They take our way of life seriously and I think people will be loving the coming changes, and by people-I mean MY people: Pirates, killers, mercs, Gankers, griefers, Awoxers, stealers, muggers, hit men, con artists, etc

I trust you, Darius, but I don't trust CCP. When there's glitter and bits of horn-meat on my fork, *then* I'll believe we're having unicorn for dinner.

The game will be called "Mining Online". Mining Online would include epic gravimetric raids with a chance of spawning a few frigate class npcs once in awhile that drop purple epic mining lasers.

I wanted to make a good joke about 'lol epic tier III's' but got bored.

It's fair to say the dedication of people go to to circumvent high-sec limitations is impressive but at the same time expecting what is essentially game-breaking activity to survive nerfbats is quite something.

No one should expect bumping and solo suicide ganking of such targets but at the same time I would find it pretty unreasonable were CCP to remove the 'dump your crap in an Orca post-gank' ability.

Whatever happens there should ALWAYS at least be some methods of ensuring high-sec is not entirely safe. This runs deep into the spirit and balance of all activity in New Eden. I know I make disparaging remarks about high-sec PVPers that seek to minimise their risk while acting like super hard ... whatevers.... but, this stuff is actually important in the grand scheme.

With a few tweaks, the 'suspect' flagging and proposed crimewatch stuff should actually exponentially open up the opportunity for high-sec shenanigans, albeit not against individuals but ANYONE that thinks they can take down a criminal. The main thing that makes this seem attractive to me is simple. You essentially can flag yourself to every random person on-grid simply by going suspect. These people then think 'lollol lets smoke this noob' much like they currently try to do with anyone that goes GCC. Currently they think Concord will keep them safe and the pirate will not last long enough to kill them. That much is reasonable to believe. What COULD* happen after the flagging changes is that they assume since everyone on grid can attack you that they will go down. Since you have no concord coming in to save you, all you then have to do is position yourself successfully so you can only be liable to damage from a minimum of targets. This involves some actual risk, requires some degree of competence from you and also should ultimately be more rewarding. Yes this is a post-pub ramble and most likely obvious to everyone already but there you go. EDIT: I mean it essentially makes the same tactics that work against ORGANISED gangs in low/null, work against a bunch of randoms in high. Still somewhat risky but not nearly as much as in low/null. This strikes me as somewhat balanced since no one is forced to shoot you and if they do so in a pimp fit that you then manage to take down... they only have their own stupidity to blame. Meanwhile there is also the chance that you underestimate those on grid (or in system).

Interesting times ahead.

*COULD because it depends if CCP allow you to actually shoot back at anyone that attacks you rather than their ludicrous suggestion that you could not. I seriously doubt that would be the case, and they may indeed have even changed that proposal around by now. I just haven't seen it stated anywhere.

EDIT: for istyn... POTATO
