Well I am taking the plunge and planning on setting this character to do some pvp/0.0 pve and faction warfare. I am mainly looking for what to do in order to be useful to corporations and/or groups.

This is my current character Phoenix Jones Skills.

Now here is what I need guidance on (note, I pretty much fly solely Gallente ships, and I don't use missiles to any degree, I also have 3 remaps available, and 4 million in banked skill points to spend):

1) Which small ship pilots tend to be the most valuable to a corporation (I am aiming for 4 types, either covert ops, interdictors, interceptors and Logistics). Which should be my #1 choice, which should be my #2 choice. I can currently get into Interceptors, and a Guardian is not very far out of reach, but would like to stick to Gallente ships.

2) Are drone users valuable to a corporation. I have about 5 million in drones atm, and wouldn't want that to go to waste. If so, which ship should I focus on regarding drones, and where should I start speccing those drones (drone focus).

3) I know that groups tend to ask for specific ship pilots, but I tend to prefer Gallente ships, and armor based tanks. Would that be an issue with allot of corporations out there?

4) There are ALLOT of Tertiary skills on my sheet that needs to be trained up (mainly shields, targetting, multitasking). Which should I prioritize before training up the ship skills. Been using Evemon, but still need sometype of guidance regarding priority in these skills.

5) I am in love with Battlecruisers. I'd be interested in flying the Eos/Astarte, and the Talos whenever I possibly can, This is a backburner option for me atm. I am aiming for the #1 options atm due mainly to ship cost and possible loss due to pvping, but if possible, could a person skip to head straight to these types of ships, or should I stick with just the #1 options for about 4 to 5 months?

I'm setting up my skill queues for the next few days to cover a bunch of level 1 and 2 skills I'm missing. After that, I'm looking to get this character up to snuff in about 2 weeks. My main goal is to be able to fit/fly either the #1 or #2 choice ship, and to have some of the basics covered on Tertiary skills. Reason i give myself 2 weeks is because i Have about 4 million points banked from the removal of the learning tree that I still have to use. Looking forward to the advice.

Yaay!!!!

each corporation has their own needs so you should join a corp first. having said that, support ships are usually in demand as a rule of thumb as most people would rather blow stuff up. So, intys for scouting and logistic ships. scouting skills are pretty quick to master so I would just grind that out quick

I've never seen a corp/alliance that didn't want for more dictor and logi pilots.

That said, gallente is not the generally the preferred race for those ships. Look to being able to fly a sabre, scimi or guardian. The eris is a decent dictor however and may be the closest available, but plan on losing a lot of them. Dictors die, a lot.

Hmm this causes me a bit of a dilemma then. I'm pretty much purely a Gallente pilot, and a armor tanker/repairer/Hybrid Gun type at that. Well This is the list of stuff I could technically fly, but can't afford, but have the skills to fly.

Interdictors, Assault Ships, Electronic Attack Frigates, Interceptors, Heavy Interdictors, Interceptors, Covert Ops, Heavy Interdictors, Logistics, and Marauders. The issue is that its all in Gallente ships.

Hmm... It'll have to be the skill of the pilot to be able to fly a ship even if it isn't "the supership". I'd still like some feedback on the following 2 questions though.

1) Are drone users valuable to a corporation. I have about 5 million in drones atm, and wouldn't want that to go to waste. If so, which ship should I focus on regarding drones, and where should I start speccing those drones (drone focus).

Eris is the cheapest dictor (not by much though), is a flying coffin, and is necessary for successful 0.0 shenanigans, such that most competent alliances have full replacement or reimbursement for fleet dictors.

Taranis is great for solo pvp on the cheap and works even better if you can afford sweet fits with iffa's and faction tackle.

Domi and ishtar are great bearmobiles in null. Im sure the gurista ships are too but I haven't personally flown them on any character. Actually you can do pretty much anything in a domi. Station games, suicide into frig blobs, bubble camp, this is a really great ship to have. Neuts and fat greasy slabs of armor with full tackle and small lasers for example. You can easily rat with pvp fit.

No armor fleet is going to turn their nose up at an oneiros.

Otherwise, if you don't train for the support ships you will need turret based ships to participate in blobs. Proteus or Talos, which will also give you the option of Mega. Still your drone skills will always be good for nullbearing.

If youre after joining a wh corp, this char isnt too far from being a decent proteus pilot which all WH corps like.

drones past T2 mediums are almost always wasted SP, sorry.

There is no Bob.

I really never see much waste in anything. I love drones, there awesome, especially if I can use them to supplement what I am missing (heck why not use a drone for tackling if you can't do it).

Eitherway. Thank you for the feedback. I've added a ton of skills to the character to cleanup the sheet (including some missile skills). I'll keep up the gunnery spec for small and medium ships and specialize down that road.

So my roadmap

1) Small and Medium Blasters and Railguns
2) Interdictors, interceptors, and Logistics.
3) Remote repair, drone repair, drone support skills.

Later on
4) Command Ships for Fleet bonuses.
5) A few Blaster ships for good measure.

I probably won't go beyond Battlecruiser. like them to much
